Takara Tomy has announced that they will attend the upcoming Shizouka Hobby Show 2019.
The confirmation surfaced via Takara Tomy Twitter, they will be showing products of their main brands like Transformers (of course), Diaclone and Zoids. The 58th edition of Shizuoka Hobby Show will be held from May 11, 2019 to Saturday May 12, 2019 in Shizuoka, Japan.
There’s still not much information available, but it’s probable we may see some prototypes or new molds (keep your fingers crossed) for upcoming products. In the meantime, it’s time to speculate! What would you like to see at the event? Let us know on the 2005 Boards!

I think I'm giving barricade one shoulder cannon and his shin painted black so it looks more like this:
And paint stuff gold

The whole Computron fiasco was the most disappointing thing from the Prime War trilogy.

I hear you, I preordered UW Computron. To me Computron has a lot of sentimental value since G1 Scattershot is a gift I got for my birthday from my grandfather, my parents got me the limbs.

Hopes for a UW Computron reissue…lowering…lowering…gone.

Thanks Ca12nag3!
At lease some people get the gist of what I was saying, w/o making minor accusations legally binding…..
Maybe it's a case of both Hasbro and Takara both designing TF figures in board meetings and voting on which one would be better received. Or a case of taking turns (Takara gets TC, Hasbro gets Skywarp) IDK….
My point is that WE can no longer make the choice of which one we prefer with our wallets with SOME of these figure like we did 5 years ago. It just would've been nice in this particular case.
For me anyway.
YoungPrime
I don't know the logistics but it was said some years ago that HasTak renegotiated their partnership or deal.
So maybe it's Takara's final say that we're getting while Hasbro no longer makes their own unique designs due to them "possibly" no longer wanting to be left in 2nd or 3rd place in quality race..? (I did say that it was probably Takara who made TC this TEAL Blue color in the first place).
So my point is still that there's no longer a 2nd choice due to "HasTak" (hope that clarifies).

That’s entirely supposition and you are making up stuff to support your narrative. Just stop. The initial point was that Takara “can’t” do figures they want. I asked for proof, of which neither you nor young prime can provide. Stop spreading this bs nonsense about hasbro forcing Takara to do anything, like anything else with the franchise it is a business AGREEMENT. There are contracts involved and here’s a big shocker, negotiations are involved with contracts so that at least on paper things work out the way everyone wants them to. This much I know for a fact because my job involves negotiating contracts between my company and others.
Oh and like I said, selects definitively proves that Takara can do their own versions of figures, if they choose to. Same with armada prime. It’s not like hasbro is beating Takara into submission and forcing them to conform. Brand unification was an agreement between business partners.
ca12nag3
That is just what you are thinking. While Hasbro would just do whatever makes them the most money either way. If the people want a pink optimus prime then the people get a pink optimus prime. They want a black Megatron they get a black Megatron. They absolutely do not care. As for the few people with heart in it. They exist. I am sure they do. But honestly I could probably ask them 10 questions about Transformers and they would fail half. And I am not talking about complicated stuff but general G1 stuff.
Fenrys
And again, the decos in siege are more along the line of what Takara would have provided anyway since they are mostly toon accurate and not toy accurate like what hasbro used to primarily do

Select is a roundabout way to give us specific characters. Now that still doesn't mean we get 2 of the same figure in a different paint scheme. Swoop for example is specifically mentioned and broadly released. It is no longer going to be 2 full lines by both Takara and Hasbro. And for the Business 101. It saves Takara a shitload of money to have the same figure with the same buckets of paint and the same sticker sheets dropping of the assembly line as Hasbro. Which will be lining the pockets of the stock holders. And stockholders cheer like maniacs if a company rolls over and gets sold so the orders go into another company and they all get a hefty payout. So business 101 does not always co-inside with logical production process. They don't care all the care for is the money.

Tokyo Toy Show next month unless it's this month

Business 101: Takara does what their stock holders wanted.

That’s not what was contested. Young prime claims Takara “can’t” do their own figures or so figures how they want. The fact is that Takara typically did a cartoon deco while hasbro did a toy deco, so what we are getting now is more like what Takara would have released rather than what hasbro would have released (soundwave eye color aside). The existence of Takara specific generations selects figures is in direct contrast to that claim.
ca12nag3
It is hard to say. Proof of their brand unification exists as it is said so by both Hasbro and TakaraTomy. Does this mean neither can't do their own thing? No. But brand unification does mean that neither will be releasing a figure under the same name with a different paint scheme. So we won't get 2 generation Arcees or 2 CW Ultra Magnusses UW/CW Comutron sets anymore. It will streamline production and avoid people from fishing in other markets for the same figure but with a " better/different colorscheme" . A retooling how minor it may be as with the Star Convoy is not a repaint. He is a retool and if Hasbro sees no money in it they simply won't release it while Takara may.
Fenrys
no, i mean proof of your assertion that takara cant do figures how they want anymore (looks over at star convoy, turtler and the upcoming super megatron).
TargetmasterJoe
All right, so a closer look at Armada Optimus Prime didn’t happen here.
When's the next Japan toy and hobby event? Maybe we'll learn more THEN?
YoungPrime
Don't need proof, it's simply wishful thinking…. Siege's "Thunder-Teal" is not a deal breaker though. Maybe I'll just paint one.
jackisking
Takara's would have been that color blue anyway like the MP.
Fenrys
Proof?
YoungPrime
I guess this is where Takara not having the ability to make figures the way they wanted as another option has cost TF collectors.
It probably would've been Takara who made TC this Teal blue color while Hasbro would've made him the original blue (or vice versa). Either way everyone may have gotten what they wanted color wise even if it did cost more.
