Don't flatter yourself, Killian, you're not that complicated.
And honestly, you can rant about me, Wal-Mart, Hasbro's distribution, cheap customers, and whatever else all you want, but it will never change the fact that when it comes to your problems you only have yourself and that pretentious "it's not my fault it's them!" attitude of yours to blame.
RKillian
He has difficulty understanding situations and opinions that differ from his own. This is the guy that handwaves away bad distribution as collector laziness afterall.
In other news, I bought some crayons and redrew part of issue four with TransFormers characters. Maybe I'll post it when I have time. Or send it to IDW if they're hiring.
GizmoTron
Not really a good comparison because that would never happen with those characters because they are 100% established by Hasbro as female, while a character like Spay-C wasn't even female on the toy package and it's created a contradiction between the toys and the show. I'm sure such a confusion would easily have been cleared up by Tonka given the chance, but there is no Tonka. Tonka is dead, and frankly so are the Go-Bots.
I like Go-Bots fine, by the way, I would never have read this miniseries at all if I didn't (sure as hell didn't read it for the interesting plot or the art). But that doesn't change the fact that I don't care if it marginalizes a few other guys in their late thirties/early forties or not, when I asked "does anyone really care?" it was basically rhetorical. No, no one really cares.
G1Prowl
I wonder how the fandom, ESPECIALLY the woke MTMTE section of the fandom, would react if the main book out now cast Moonracer, Chromia, and Firestar as male since they have already showed the females that have been shown so far. I also wonder how they would react to someone saying "does anyone really care?", since it marginalizes the entire fanbase at the same level as you just did to the Gobots fanbase, presumably because you yourself don't care much for Gobots and view them as a non-entity.
Rodimus Prime
I wasn't even thinking about them. Mostly people who obsess over representation. I guess that it would require being familiar with the series and actually slogging through the book though.
GizmoTron
I'm guessing G1Prowl is right and any of the few Go-Bots diehards left that would have made any kind of fuss already wrote the series off from day one.
Rodimus Prime
Nah, I just found it surprisingly quiet.
GizmoTron
Fair enough, but does that mean you or anyone else cares enough that you're going to give IDW grief over it?
Rodimus Prime
I had Smallfoot and Spay-c as a child, and so they were always unofficial fembots for me.
GizmoTron
Crasher was still female I believe. Other than that, does anyone really care?
Deathcatg
I noticed it, but I just overlooked it and still imagined Spay-C and Small Foot with their female voices since the cartoon integrated them into me strongly.
G1Prowl
The ones liking it are liking it solely because it's Scioli, and the ones disliking it is because the quality is garbage from the ground up. The first group will continue to like it despite the issue you mention, the second group figures that they've proven their point BEFORE that part is gotten to.
Rodimus Prime
I am honestly surprised that they didn't get crap for making the females male, but I suspect that it was due to no one reading it.
Black Convoy
Give this man a beer!

Lol ok that’s funny

It was dumb, but I guess the thing is I think the fan club stuff was still dumb, too, since Gobots don't actually belong in the TF universe at all and should just be their own thing. This series started out that way and I liked where it was going at first, but clearly it was more about Scioli doing his thing rather than anything more and that's the end of it.
Edit: Although the more I think about the ending, I'm reminded that as a kid I had GoBots first (since they were smaller and cheaper and better to give a 3-4 year old), and as I moved into Transformers instead many characters at playtime received a GoBot lookalike stand-in to fill out the ranks, and this ending of GoBots giving birth to the Transformers multiverse is actually quite fitting. I doubt that was what Scioli was going for exactly, but in at least one respect I appreciate this work a little more.

Sure, but when’s the last time someone did that? I think ever since the Gobots got their own convention exclusives and tie-in comic that established their place in the TF universe, and later the Bayverse as well, the Gobots have not been the butt of that particular joke.
Not to mention it dumps on both the Gobots & the TFs. It dumps on the Gobots by suggesting that the only way these guys can be interesting is if they’re literally rebuilt into the more popular Transformers characters.
And it dumps on the TFs, because we know these characters, their histories & their origins, and no version of them gels with what’s being shown in Gobots.
It reminds me of the final episode of Star Trek: Enterprise, where they rammed the Next Generation plot into it, & made it more about Riker & TNG than Enterprise. Like they’re going to borrow the popularity of TNG to try & go out on a high note.
It’s like Furman’s original script for Beast Wars’ series finale!! He was going to have all these Decepticons wake up & fight & basically steal the show from the characters that had been carrying it for 3 seasons. Thankfully they didn’t have the budget for that & nixed it.
So instead of being a finale about Gobots, it was about how we should care because they eventually become cooler characters.
GizmoTron
Less dumb than most attempts to connect the two, which usually just involve making the GoBots extra background troops for the Autobots or Decepticons that can be killed off for story affect because why not?
Mako Crab
Not creative. Not controversial. Just dumb.
