Via Popular Mechanics we can share for your an interesting interview with Super7 Founder Brian Flynn about several of their new upcoming products, including the Transformers Super Cyborg Deluxe Action Figures.
Super7 is coming in hot with their extensive line of licensed merchandising and collectibles of several famous franchises like Star Wars, Master Of The Universe, Alien, Mega Man, Robotech, and even some famous music bands. Of course, Transformers is on their catalog with some impressive new cartoon accurate 11- inches tall and fully articulated Optimus Prime and Megatron action figures. They have transparent removable chest panels to show off their robotic guts inside in lieu of transforming super powers. We had a look at them via our past Toyfair coverage.
You can read the full interview here or just the comments about these figures after the jump. After that, you can share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!
Another exciting addition to the catalog are the first screen-accurate Transformers from the original Generation One cartoons—because they don’t transform. For companies like Hasbro, the transformation is the whole point of the line, but that comes at the cost of accuracy. “By the nature of that toy physically having to transform,” Flynn says, “you’re only going to get 85 to 90 percent screen accurate because you have to put the mechanisms in.” Super7’s Transformers Super Cyborg Deluxe Action Figures, each 11 inches tall and fully articulated, have transparent removable chest panels to show off their robotic guts inside in lieu of transforming super powers.

I can't even imagine trying to sell 90% of what Super7 middlemans from China. Judging from what I see at other dealer tables, that's not an isolated opinion. $15 for faux Kenner figures in a market that waits for sales on $20 Marvel Legends? Seriously?

"We grew up with giant monsters, comic books, punk, science fiction, skateboarding, robots & rebellion. No one made what we wanted.
So we made it ourselves." – Super7
Super7 makes cool toys for cool people.

Correct, which is part of the reason why He-Man's face is not super close to Lundgren's. It is titled the "William Stout Collection."
Super7 struggles with items that are supposed to be more articulated since that isn't their specialty.

I asked that same "Why" for the Action Masters concept back in 1990.
Still do, today.
RodimusRex
It seems like they licensed the concept art, not the movie or the actor licenses. We’ll see.
OriginalFire
How much articulation do these actually have. Like 10 points or 11, which is just the basics these days.

Some of the complaints about the latest wave of 4H's Advent of Decay figs would make a person believe that they aren't doing any better than Super7 with factory choices…hmm I guess Super7 and 4H could be using the same factory ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
SouthtownKid
Optimus and Megatron… You'd think that if someone (in 2019) was going to create TF action figures with no transformation, that would at least free them up to get the proportions right. Or even close to right.
These are closer to Action Master proportions. Was that the intent? (and if so, why?)

My unnamed one and construx were shipped. Now I'm only awaiting shadow Weaver

I like these transformers figures and when I get the chance, I will buy them… I been collecting Super 7 Motu figures and I highly recommend their quality and overall design… I always wanted a Megatron that looks like the cartoon character… Not counting the master piece versions…

Agreed. They look great. But what you are seeing are the prototypes done by the 4 Horseman. They do amazing work. But the factory will butcher them. The paint detail will be way off. The plastic looks waxy and almost transparent. The plastic quality itself is terrible. Figures are prone to breakage.

Can that legally be considered false advertising? We're indeed getting action figures of Lundgren and Langella, but if the final product comes out and it's not what's shown, and if there's no disclaimer on product photos, can that hold up in a court of law?
Malaktha
The issue is the four horsemen make great prototypes. The super7 send them to a bootleg quality factory and we get low quality translations of high end sculpts
convoy84
Nnnnn, but the Lundgren and Langella figures they've got coming look so tempting!
MattDallas
Aren't the point of the Super 7 Toys that they are supposed to look like they were made in the 80's?
Alpha_&_Omega
I've seen the garbage that they try to pass to motu fans, no clue how they stay in business. Hopefully they go under quickly.

…bitch, where!

As a Masters of the Universe fan, I can’t recommend anyone to buy Super 7 products. Their Masters of the Universe Classics figures are abysmal. So bad that I quit collecting MOTUC. As far as I’m concerned, Masters of the Universe is dead until Mattel gives us something new. I wouldn’t expect their Transformers products to be any better.

I want to ask who buys this crap…but I need to remember that one man's trash is often someone else's treasure.

Ummmm, noooo?
