Ahead of the release of Transformers: Bumblebee in Japan, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura spoke to the press regarding the possibility of a Transformers: Beast Wars Live Action Movie.
According to Mr. Bonaventura, the movie is estimated to cost $450 million to make and the investors are not too keen to invest on a high risk project costing nearly half a million to make.
If this becomes a reality, the movie will become the highest budgeted movie in Hollywood, says the producer.
According to industry calculations, the movie should make $ 1.125 billion just to reach the break-even value; an impossible odd considering the trend for the series nowadays. This is just from the production budget alone. Combine that with the marketing budget and the value will skyrocket to an impossible target.
The producer is also skeptical about the familiarity of Beast Wars among the general public. “How many people knows Beast Wars?” says Lorenzo, adding further fuel to the fire.
Despite the negativity, Lorenzo states that he and Hasbro wishes to see a fruitful outcome for Beast Wars.
In conclusion, the report from The River states that the future of the project is ‘undecided’.

Although I enjoyed Bumblebee, there's still alot of room for improvement.
Seems like there is still too much hesitation to have a movie based fully Cyberton and with little or no human arc, which IMO were some of the weakest parts of Bumblebee. Namely John Cena overaccting in every scene.

Near complete dumpster fire until Bee came along…..

Marvel get support because they have built it up, Transofmers on the other hand…

Ot an animated movie, like Predacons Rising, or the '86 movie.

It's almost like it would be cheaper to partner with someone like Netflix and do a small season show……

All they can do now is think about what they’ve done and work hard.

especially when transformers has nowhere near the amount of support marvel gets, and considering even BB barely made it close to 500mil worldwide, there is no chance a beastwars movie would be able to get the money to scrape past budget+marketing costs…
Digger
Yeah it was like $350 million. And I don’t know ho watching endgame connects to a beast wars movie.

As long as they have people in charge (writers, directors and producers) that know the material and are able to create a story from that universe that is easy to understand and not too complicated to make then I am all for it. Otherwise, I'd be fine with waiting until the 30th anniversary of Beast Wars to see something.
Short version: Don't rush into it!

It also would require sticking to tried and true basics of the franchise, because that's what draws people in – familiarity.

No TF movie is gonna make Avengers money. For one thing, that would require an actual story, for another, it would require that story to be actually good..

didn't that movie cost 500 mil to make…… that sounds pretty expensive…

After watches Avengers Endgame, how and why would Beast Wars cost so much, and you guys who have seen the movie know what I'm talking about.

I\'v been thinking about it & how is it that it\'s soo much work to do a Beast Wars with All the other TF Movies that have been made. The can make a Beast Wars movie. Even the last TF Movies on just how Very bad they were. A Beast Wars movie needs to be the next TF Movie.

I sincerely hope it will not follow the original storyline. While the story of Beast Wars was very memorable, what made it work were the characters. I want more of Beast Wars, not really more of the same thing. New storyline with plenty of Easter eggs for old fans would be splendid. I'd also not mind if they updated/tried new things with the designs.
An alternate universe/or the past crossing over with the modern world could work really well. Or maybe the Maximal/or Predacon ship gets discovered and a time-space bridge is established between now and the past. I'd love for them to use the time-travel gimmick, but reinvent the idea.
I'd also like if some of the characters from comics, BWII and Neo made and appearance. There were so many things that didn't make it into cartoon that I'd love for them to use them in the new universe.
Windsweeper II
Especially because the first one proved to be the worst of them all.
People wanting to see more after that fiasco was a miracle.
I like the idea of a BW movie set in the future.
Something like Planet of the apes?
After WW3 humanity faces extinction and a group of Maximals is trying to protect them against the Predacons who want to finish the job.
Something like that.

The circumstances that made Beast Wars a notable cartoon no longer exist, While a new project would undoubtedly generate some cool toy designs it's highly unlikely that they're going to capture lightening in a bottle again in terms of fiction. Beast Wars is well remembered by 90's kids and a modest revival effort of some kind could see some limited success, but that's not the kind of irrational Big Money that the owners are looking for so I think either nothing will come of this as the risk would be seen as too great, or they go for it anyway and it flops regardless of how good or bad it is because my generation doesn't have money for nostalgia.
