TFNation have announced their latest guest for TFNation 2019. Joining the TFNation 2019 guest lineup is the one and only Marty Isenberg!
Marty Isenberg has had a major involvement in two memorable Transformers series. He was co-editor of Beast Machines alongside Bob Skir – a series known for being incredibly divisive in its time – but he’s perhaps better known for a certain other Transformers series that ten years later is still near and dear to many fans hearts – Transformers Animated. Marty was the story editor for this series as well as working on the comic tie-in published by IDW. He’s also worked on a slew of other cool series you may know and enjoy, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003), Ben 10, Spider-Man, X-Men, Batman the Animated Series and Gargoyles. If there’s a more awesome resume of 90s and early 2000s shows, we’d love to know.
TFNation 2019 will be taking place over the weekend of 16 – 18 August 2019 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole in Birmingham in England. Marty Isenberg will be joined by voice actors Gregg Berger (Generation 1 Grimlock, Jetfire, Long Haul and more), Peter Spellos (Robots in Disguise Sky-Byte), writers Simon Furman and James Roberts, writer and artist Nick Roche, artists Jack Lawrence and Kei Zama and colorist John-Paul Bove. Panels will include a special look at rare, unreleased and never-before-seen Transformers merchandise. Check out the TFNation homepage for more information and to pre-register.

Went to TFN on Saturday and stayed at the Genting Hotel overnight with the family, which was really nice.
Bought a couple figs but starting to regret not getting the £40 giant black and white artwork by Andrew Griffith…

Loved the convention this year, highlight obviously being the Animated audio panel. An excellent job by all the TFN team, as well as the guests, dealers, forge folks, Gundam displays, and the attendees as well. It's definitely a very friendly place to attend.

I attended TFN this weekend and it was fantastic. Came on here to see if there were any comments on it and saw some pretty pathetic comments from the 11th of July regarding Brian Ruckley. I watched the panel he was on with the artists regarding the new comic and everyone was very respectful.
I would suggest that the people making those comments didn't turn up themselves, but were able to make them only through the security of looking at a screen. The type of people who would brag to anyone around them about how they'd spit in the eye and kick the balls of someone they don't like, but if they actually met them would shake their hand and be completely the opposite.

Enjoying TFN so far! I usually do just a day ticket, but here for the weekend this time, so this is all pretty fun.

Hey!! It’s on the ‘Toys’ discussion board. We’re a very friendly bunch of enabling bastards.

Where's the UK thread please? I'm thinking of getting a last minute ticket and rocking up on Saturday. Haven't been in years since it was Auto Assembly!

The bar prices. YIKES! Hello to everyone here who doesn't post in the UK thread but is going to TFN!

Evening Folks. I'll have a small amount of copies (10 each of both versions) of my "Trapped In Polyhex" book with me at this years TFN.
If you want to pick one up, drop me a message
Softcover is £20
Hardcover is £25
(Both have the same content but the hardcover has a nice dust jacket and fancy ribbon!)
Both come with the A5 IDW supplement "Escaped!" and copies of the Ladybird Book Covers until I run out of them.
More info: https://trappedinpolyhex.com/2018/07/18/making-a-book/
I'll not be running around like a madman delivering them to people this year, as it was exhausting doing that last year, so i'll be in the bar with them on Friday & Saturday evening for collection.

Most of the actors are going to have very long lines to get autographs.
You should be able to snag some of the writers no problem; when Marty Isenberg was at TFCon LA earlier this year, there were pretty much no people in line. Which is criminal.

Just bought myself a ticket! This'll be my first ever transformers convention, anything I should look out for?

I’m looking forward to TFN!

I'm sure the organisers won't let anyone get unruly. I don't read the new run so I've no interest but I do hope people can feel allowed to be critical so long as its respectful.
Feedback and critique is vital, or else how do we improve anything?
Markatron
Will there be a way we can watch it live or something?

Are people seriously worried about Ruckley? He'll be fine, jeez. He's a big boy, I'm sure he can take the softball criticism that may be lobbied at him. If he gets a bit of criticism or (god forbid) someone makes a joke, and he doesn't feel welcome anymore, perhaps he shouldn't come back. I'm not exactly sure what some of you are expecting to happen at the panel, but it sounds hilarious.
I sure hope no one asks about sales during that IDW retrospective panel though, that'd be awkward.
Continuing to read a low-quality comic out of spite, eh? That'll show 'em. I refuse to apologize for criticizing poor work from someone who has no previous experience writing for Transformers. He should expect any criticism he's given and take it like the grown-ass man he seems to be, that's how writers improve, believe it or not.
Are we seriously at a point now where criticizing low quality content is considered malicious?

The Mad Demobot
I swear to god if the panel gets malicious from fans and panelists I'll keep reading these comics not just that is actually FINE, but out of pure spite because you guys couldn't go one issue without a brawl in-universe and out.

He should chain Mariotte by his ankle to the table during his panel. That way Ruckley can direct all questions about pacing directly to him.
BombSquad
He's gonna get eaten alive. Knowing this fandom, maybe this should be billed as his first and only convention appearance.
