Shockwave Lab, via their Weibo account, have uploaded images of their next upgrade kit: SL-45 LED Matrix Unit for Siege Voyager Optimus Prime.
This is a very nice LED Matrix unit to the placed in the empty space inside Optimus Prime’s chest. It also integrates well in the alt mode. Small and as easy to install as just place it inside the figure.
This is the third LED kit upgrade by Shockwave Lab, following the SL-44 LED Upgrade Kit For Masterpiece Movie MPM-05 Barricade and the SL-43 LED Upgrade Kit For Titans Return Trypticon we reported before. We still have no specific information on release date or price, but as usual with other Shockwave Lab products they should be out in the market shortly after they reveal pictures.
Check out the images on this news post and then let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Yeah… that's probably a good idea.

Yep, it's pretty neat and fills the gap in quite well.
Protip: when in bot mode, make sure you bring the tires into his waist BEFORE you insert the box or things will fall out of alignment. Those of me with fat fingers found that to be a chore to fix.

I must have this upgrade

Just need some articulated hands and this dude will be one of the best primes in this scale ever. Love this figure.
ruru
Thanks going to try that now.
Don't have battery type but will run out after work and grab one. Hopefully the dude who took his apart can fix his.
The cr1025 batteries work. I had to go to a wal Mart super center jewelry counter. Common watch battery I guess. Thanks for letting me know.

Oof, that's very odd. I think I'm going to stick to my alternative plan of getting a Dr. Wu matrix sword and head-cannoning it that Optimus Prime is transforming the Matrix into a sword when he transforms for battle…
I'm actually enjoying making up my own head-cannon with these figures. I figure the very obvious part number on Ironhide's torso is from his time in a Decepticon concentration camp before he was liberated.
And Shockwave's ultimate form is clearly from when he tampered with the Matrix and temporarily became a Prime…

Mine didn’t come with a battery.
Remove the little black screws and pull out the light up section from the red case part.
Right behind the silver matrix part is the space that the battery sits.
If it’s empty you might just need a battery. It takes a size CR1025.

Reached out to show.Z whatever will update with response.

Got mine today and it will not light up. Argh…

Update!
I took out the two little screws and pulled the center part out. I thought that the battery part was where the little button in the back was.
WRONG!
The button has two metal pieces that go around the section where the battery is supposed to go. Turns out, pulling out the button rips off those two tabs and makes the entire thing useless.
So behold my wraith I guess.

The worst thing is that I already ordered new batteries for it so I have to buy another one just so I didn’t waste that money.
DutyBeforeAll
I did.
I’m not sure if the batteries can be changed without wrecking the wires.
A showz seems to be down for now.
JLOJ
yeah both of the ones i ordered worked right away on first click. I dont know the battery type as i havent tried to open them up.
DutyBeforeAll
Was yours working out of the box? Mine won’t light up, but I wasn’t sure if they included batteries or not.
What size batteries does it take?
JLOJ
Welcome! Yeah easy to remove, even though at first mine wasn't coming out until I was like duh I should untab it then remove it lol. I can see how since you purchased your Siege Optimus for almost half off then spending the same amount for a little light doesn't make sense.
Mercurius
Thanks very much for the review. So, it's easy to remove the matrix from the chest, then? It looks like a tight fit, but I guess that's just the tabbing. I'm on the fence for this – I got my Optimus for almost half price thanks to some sales I stumbled across, but I'm not sure I want to spring for the light for $16…

I received my two copies of this yesterday from Ebay. Here is a short review with photos. Its easy to use as its just a matter of placing in the empty spot in robot mode. It even has little tabs that allow the piece the head is on to go into to make the connection secure. The light is pretty bright for being as small as it is. The paint job on this block of plastic is actually pretty nice. A slight metallic red along with the metallic silver for the matrix portion. To remove it's just a matter of untabbing the spot from the piece the head is on and it comes right out. Storage in alt mode however is just an after thought from the photos on the first page. As you can see from the photos it fits when you don't have the top of the leg flaps correctly transformed. It just sits in there loosely. Not a secure connection in truck mode. I took photos of it in truck mode with the flaps out and in. Also it looks like the only way to get to the battery is to remove the two VERY tiny screws on each side of it. Overall I would say this is a nice little addition to Siege Optimus Prime. Is it $15.00/$16.00 nice? No I think this should be sold for no more than $10.

I preordered from the store link for a little more. I did not want to go chinese ebay sellers. I have had some bad experiences with upgrade kit knock offs. I will update when I get it.
