The Studio Series SS-14 Ironhide is sure a very movie-accurate rendition of the Autobot Weapon specialist, but fans were not so happy with Ironhide’s front bumper being a single piece incapable of wrapping around his chest.
DNA Design has come to the rescue with their new DK-10 Studio Series Ironhide Upgrade Kit. This kit includes a new foldable bumper, and even more extra parts like new feet with ankle articulation, 2 extra rifles and 2 extra knives. The new weapons can be attached in robot or alt mode. The removal of the original front bumper requires you to take out a metal pin, but this kit also includes a practical pin-puncher to help you.
We are sure your optics will be pleased with the final result seen on the attached images. We still have no specific information about price or release date, but stay tuned with TFW2005 for more information. Click on the bat and share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

A terribly forced reference.
Kamen Rider Decade
…wait, what the deuce!? (You ran into my Trap Card, "What The Deuce!?") A KO of SS15 Ironhide is coming!? Wow…hadn't heard anything about that. (Then again, after that pretty cool lookin' KO of SS54 2007 Megatron, I should've guessed that more would be coming…)

Thanks friend!
Yeah agreed. This really is a dead horse but for me it basically goes: MPM better lower body, SS better upper body stability. MPM better detail and posability, and the overall proportions are much MUCH better. SS is definitely more fun to handle in some ways. Overall we simply don’t have the perfect Ironhide yet, and we may never, since black Apple went under But I also do like the look of the SS KO that’s coming, as it incorporates all the DNA kit stuff plus some extras.
TF Hot Rod
It wins there in detail but yeah the SS is solid and don't have floppy shoulders so in the end that wins for me over the MPM (was very disappointing for me). Also no wear gorilla arms with the cannons being on the bottom of his arms not on his sides.
VVa
I like SS Ironhide for what he does at his scale, but the MPM definitely has it beat in detail and posability. If SS IH had a waist, or any foot movement at all, his lack of sharper sculpt could be forgiven.
But still the SS version rocks. And has stable shoulders.
TF Hot Rod
Awesome.
Not to beat a dead horse but he really is more fun (and IMO better) than the MPM.
rendsora
I enjoy fiddling with the SS version more than the MPM one
Btw always a joy seeing your snapshots

Damn I still want this guy

Has anyone solved the issue of the back of the truck not pegging in properly? Is there something I can shave down or use floor polish on to help?

Bakarina
Yep… I would buy it but I'm not paying double.
VVa
A shame this damn thing ain't available anywhere. The 15th Anniv. Pack IH could really use it.
Shmoptimus Prime
Yes, true, but it works for a lot of poses. Guys like Dino and Jolt needed it badly, and of course Ironhide. Basically everyone needs it, and it seems like hasbro has finally realized it's pretty important.
Zircon72
It's mode like calf pivot
Shmoptimus Prime
He DOES have ankle pivot, technically, it's just higher up.
Zircon72
There's some where I get that they can't do it. The Camaro moulds for Bee come to mind because of the way his feet transform.
CobraKai
I’d say budget reasons, because it clearly can be done.
Shmoptimus Prime
Movie bots are more complex than G1. Way more complex. More parts means more expensive, and they have to stick to pricepoints. So less parts=less money for them to produce something, and so features have to get cut. Usually it's paint first then articulation.
Zircon72
What do you mean parts count? The Prime Wars trilogy had ankle tilt.
Shmoptimus Prime
Probably a parts count thing, but they're learning.
