7Direct from Toy Fair 2019, we have images of the new Transformers Movie Masterpiece figures. On display are:

  • MPM-8 Megatron (Transformers 2007) Showing figures in both modes, accessories and packaging.
  • MPM-9 Jazz (Transformers 2007) We have comparison shots next to Megatron, all the accessories (including Sam’s figurine) and a look at the front and back of the box.

He looks good but I'm going to ask the question many ask but never seem to get a straight answer on: why the heck is he posed/transformed all goofy-like?

I get that marketing dudes don't know what they're doing, but surely Hasbro would ensure their products are displayed in an eye pleasing fashion..
Right? I mean, obviously not but why not? Someone please help me understand xD

So, where are these Masterpiece bots going to? I don\'t see Target or Walmart carrying them. Will they be going to GameStop? Amazon exlusives?

I'm assuming all big online retailers like EE and also Diamond Distribution, so comic and collectable shops. EE used to have a partnership with TRU. Likely they are getting these, guaranteed.

Amazon is also a candidate.

I bought MPM Bumblebee (Camaro) at Toys R Us a few weeks after they filed for bankruptcy.

I\'m super hyped for Jazz he looks like they took elements from the ha and ss figures and stuck them together and megatron looks beautiful as well

My accessory wishlist for MPM Ratchet:

  • Tyrrenium Buzzsaw
  • Machine Blaster
  • MPM Mikaela Banes (fully articulated to hold his small equipments)
  • Wrist Missile Launcher
  • Removable Shovel, Axe, and Chain Cutter on both sides of his Hummer Alt-mode
  • Laser check equipment (what he used on BBBs neck)
  • Control Pillar from DOTM


Takara Tomy, if you're reading this (probably not); please make this happen. This'll greatly benefit/justify your price range and this is the last 2007 Autobot, make him your best one.

That's honestly a really long list, and I doubt takara will get to most of it except Mikaela, the blaster, and his buzzsaw. Since we saw that Takara only includes accessories integral to a character's role in the movies, I doubt much else is gonna be included.

Megatron doesn't seem to look big enough next to Jazz, I was really hoping he would be though.

At some point, OS KOs can only get us so far. We definitely need MPMs of the entire 07 cast. Takara went in, now they should finish what they started. Might take time, but we are taking refuge among the boards. We are here. We are waiting.

I also have Bonecrusher and I feel hes more like a Leader class figure than an MPM.

Than i pass on him :)  i’m only going for the MPM line. Or you mean it in a good way? I only had the real wauw with the mpms the other transformers are a bit to much toyish for me.

Same for Blackout. The improvements made on it were nice, but it does just look like an OS toy. I expect an MPM to look much nicer and I think it will. I went back and forth on getting that Starscream before finally coming to the conclusion that it doesn't match the MPM in terms of detail and quality. Plus, Starscream should be next if the rumors are true.

I also considered the DF ROTF Megatron, but seeing this MPM Megatron really turned me off from that one. Every shot of MPM Megatron makes me like the design more. Plus the level of detail on it is appropriate for the size of the figure. I never thought I would like this design until the reveal of the MPM.

You are right! Forgot about Blackout. Yes we need him also as an MPM. I have for example BMB LS-04 Starscream but the OS figures aren’t as smooth as the mpm figures to me. Not sure the OS black-out is kind of the same?

Anyway, Jazz is going to be special for me because the second Transformer I owned in the collection that started it all was HA Jazz. He looks to be such a massive improvement over the HA. In fact, once him and Starscream come out, I will have replaced my 5 original Transformers with MPM's. I'm so excited!

What are the chances of Jazz being a correct size? Not that I even know what correct is.

But does anybody know how big he is? Is he Bumblebee sized?

Well, he's officially about 6 inches, but I don't know how reliable that information is. That puts him at a couple of centimeters shorter than MPM Bee.

Oke, I like this new movie Megatron, This one looks a LOT better than the leader class of the first movie.
Jazz and also Barricade are very nice but are they really that much better than the Human Alliance versionso_O 
Don´t get me wrong, I see some improvements, but they cost much more money (HA Barricade 40 Euro´s, MPM Barricade about a 100:eek: ).
Same for MPM Optimus and Ironhide who also suffer with issues.

I have the WASP ko MPM3 Bumblebee (50Euro´s) and the Human Alliance version (20 Euro´s) and yes, I like the MPM version more but not enough to pay 100 Euro´s for an original version.
So I did not buy another MPM version anymore cause I don´t see that much improvement over the older versions that justify those much higher price tags.
Shortly said, I´m a bit dissapointed in this line…:( 

Absolutely. It's not even close. The paint, quality, proportions, sculpting detail, cgi accuracy, and articulation are much better than the HA figures.
