Itunes has uploaded the 3-page preview of the fourth and penultimate issue of the new Go-Bots comic by IDW. This new and fresh take on the former rivals of the Transformers comes courtesy of Tom Scioli, known by his work on the Transformers VS G.I. Joe IDW comic.
It’s time for reveals. What dark secret lies at the center of Gobotron? You won’t believe the answer.
Go-bots #04 (of 05) is out this Wednesday, February 20. Check out the preview after the jump and then sound off on the 2005 Boards!

Eh, some of the comments read more like they hate Gobots then the art, so you can’t always tell.

I don't think anyone here is saying anything anti-Gobots. If anything I'd venture a guess at the reason why the negative feeling towards the comic is so strong is precisely because people care about Gobots.

By ending, thankfully.
Necromaster
I dunno, I'm actually still all for this comic by virtue of it having become almost as bonkers as TF vs GI Joe.
Almost as bonkers. Let that sink in.
This comic is weird as shit and honestly, that's got me hooked. I can't begin to imagine how this is all going to wrap up next month.
GizmoTron
I think that's what bothers these Go-Bots fans coming out of the wood work the most, though, that it's unlikely IDW or anyone else has any plans to ever do a full revival of the old Go-Bots. These five issues may be all anyone is ever going to get.
GizmoTron
Don't be stupid, that wouldn't be either creative or original.

I can't speak for his skill, but I CAN state that "his drawings (in this comic) are absolute tosh".
Smitty.1981
You want to run that by me again?
G1Prowl
Skill is being generous, and it has more to do with his innate inability to plot panels along with his abysmal writing. Aping Kirby or Steranko doesn't mean you have their artistic talent, such as it were.
Starscream Gaga
You can say "I don't like the style" and that's fine because it is pretty far from the norm, but to say "Scioli's drawings are bad" or implying he doesn't have skill is not right. There's an obvious difference between the two.
RKillian
I didn't care for that type of art back then either. So to me, the effort spent drawing like that on purpose is wasted. It fits the story I guess but that's not doing anything for me either.
G1Prowl
So we can't call out how bad he sucks because of the way in WHICH he sucks? I don't even have the words…
Purple Heart
I won’t defend the artsyle of the comic, but I will defend Gobots.

I feel like calling Scioli's drawings bad is missing the forest for the trees. He's lovingly recreating the artstyle of 80's pack-in comics and doing it fantastically. It takes a lot of skill to do authentic homages to other people's art styles and to call the drawings bad is just wrong.
RKillian
If it wasn't so hard to draw this badly, I'd buy some crayons and give you a comic where King Optimus builds Cybertron over the ruins of Earth, feeds the Ark Scooby Snacks, and lobotomizes Bumblebee, and then deflect all criticism with "LOL haturz gonna H8!1one"

Chiller, I came on to this thread today to write my sentiments on the hate that this series is getting (its been nagging me for the last day and a half) and you pretty much nailed what I wanted to say.
It makes no sense to talk about disrespecting the Go-Bots when it's not meant to continue the original series.
HATERS, IT'S AN ALL NEW TAKE ON THE TOYS AND IN NO WAY CONTINUES THE ORIGINAL CARTOON SERIES.
If you dislike for any other reason, you're entitled to it because just like buttholes, everyone has an opinion.
G1Prowl
OR they could view the success of Scioli's… vision as a justification to keep THAT going. It cuts both ways. You don't reward a company for a shit product on the hope that it'll encourage them to produce an excellent product next time around. It's no different than when Games Workshop moved all their Warhammer Fantasy models into the Age Of Sigmar stock for sales figures. All the panic buying of the older kits buoyed the sales numbers making it a reward for a divisive rule set. As it stands, they've doubled down on AOS albeit with a patch job to the rules to make up for some of its… shortcomings. Letting those older products hit clearance would have sent a different message.
kjeevahh
I don't think it needs conventional scripts and artwork. In fact I don't think it should have those things, I think it should be a fundamentally different approach to that taken with regular TF.
But not if it's shit.
