Via 十条大楠 on Weibo, we have images of the colored prototype of the upcoming Toyworld: TW-FS01, based on The Last Knight WWI Bulldog.
Toyworld brings us a representation of a character with a brief moment on The Last Knight film, but who got attention of fans for his original alt mode. This old robot was one of the veterans who was under the care of Sir Edmund Burton. He transformed into a 1917 Mark IV tank “Bulldog” from World War I.
Bulldog is made in scale with popular Studio Series line (seems like a Voyager class). As we can see from the images this mold is full of details in both modes, with great finishing and painting. You have several interchangeable display options for the head: regular face with military hat or helmet, and two different battle masks.
There’s no specific information on price or release date, but be sure to check our Boards for more information when it’s available. You can now check the images after the jump and then sound off on the 2005 Boards!

Yeah, adults arguing about robots having mustaches is rather silly. Who cares? There are options for this figure if you don't like the look. I personally dig the historical, realistic alt mode, so I definitely wanna pick one up.

I just want to see if there's new Toyworld figures and I come into some toxic person complaining about Michael Bay for the billionth time
Why is this forum so toxic, man
nutnut
Can we please get back to talking about the figures and updates on them instead of arguing about things. All i want is pics updates and release dates and final price. Sorry guys but every time i look at the boards and posts i'm disappointed its not news just people bickering about silly things. We can surly agree we all love transformers and want great figures.

So this has gone from a logical discussion about aesthetics to basically just Bay-bashing. In a thread based on Bay films.
Got it.
Also, as stated, G1 had hair. Not sure what rose colored, Nair inducing glasses you're wearing.
artimus prime
G1 had hair.
ZapRowsdower
It's sound logic, don't get me wrong. I follow what you say.
The issue is how uneven the presentation is.
I just prefer things to have a certain theme or aesthetic uniformity (as MOST TF cartoons do). You can mention outliers, sure, but with BAy-verse? It feels like most of it is outliers. What about Skids and Mudflap? How did they add to the movies? You mention accent on G1 Ironhide, but it was nowhere as GRATING as Mudflaps and Skids.
The "hair" idea is completely off the rails, imo. G1 did not have hair, because it was plainly stupid. And this is an 80s cartoon team deciding it would be too stupid in the 80s! That should tell you something about the Bay-verse liberties.
I just saw TMNT: OUt of the Shadows, and it reeks of Bay's influence. He has a muscle car tear @$$ out of a police lot just for effect, with a ton of police standing right there, as though they're cool with it.
Bay will do something for the cinematic shock and awe, not for the cohesive art quality or relevance to actual plot. It's all fireworks and explosions for no reason. This leaks into the robot designs he approves – he doesn't have a single artistic vision; he approves whatever looks cool to him at the time.
So no matter how much you want to argue that G1 or BW or whatever was "the same", it's simply not true. Bayverse stuff is more random and weird than any other TF program before it (save maybe Beast Machines, but that's a mess we'll not get into!
). Because Bay is so off-the-cuff and is so terrible with plot/story, his robots suffer the same scatter-shot art direction, where it's a little hard to tell WHAT they're supposed to look like, versus what Bay decided that day to do with Character X.

I was a little skeptical but I love this tank so when I saw the painting, just … wow
artimus prime
You're both brave for taking the chance on this figure.
Theleochat
I could not resist, me too and this is my first 3P also
TheSuperion
Well, I can't believe it, but I just preordered Bulldog. That ShowZ price was too reasonable to resist. I just never thought that my first ever 3P figure would end up being Bayformers. I never thought I'd be collecting Bayformers period. All of this, thanks to a couple 5 dollar TLK deluxes at Ollies.

I was speaking in regard to my position as argued to Mindvvipe, who held the idea of "I am fine with it in other places but not here"
As I said, hating it universally is one thing, and hey, you have other head options if you like the design otherwise. But to say it's fine in the other mediums but not in this one particular one just doesn't work to me as an argument due to it being an element from basically the infancy of this franchise's design teams.
Scott8797
Does this have a release date yet? Recently saw the mpm Megatron is expected in August so now I wanna spend money. This will do
tonysandlin
Maybe I wasn't clear enough, but I don't like the humanoid look for any of the transformers. Unless you were just speaking generally.
Dragga
It's relevant if you don't mind it in the other mediums but then only find reason to in one in particular. Bulldog is barely any different to me than examples of G1 characters with metal facial hair and accessories. It'd be one thing if it was disliking the trend across the board, but I find it pretty illogical to find it fine in so many other regards but not this one when others have done it just as much.
tonysandlin
Just because the elements have been there from the start doesn't mean you have to like them. I dislike most robot designs that are too human in any medium. I don't mind when they draw inspiration from human culture, but things like Bulldogs face bug me. For me, the first two movies incorporated human-like features without being to obvious and I think it was nicely balanced.
primalxconvoy
I understand what was meant by "too many human features" mentioned above. I do appreciate it for this figure (reminds me of that American WW2 aeroplane we got, with the goggles), but I agree that the level of anthropomorphic representation here is more than G1. Usually, in G1, there would be a stylised, robotic feel, with perhaps one, or two "human" features added.
Anyway, I can't unsee these:

This guy has a real ABC Warriors vibe, like something Kevin O’Neill would have drawn in the 80s. Love it
ThisIsBadComedy
I was gonna skip this but those alt heads and faces might have reeled me in.
