We have some interesting news to share with you. Take this only as a RUMOR until we get an official confirmation. It seems a new Takara Tomy Masterpiece MP-45 Bumblebee 2.0 is on the horizon.
According to info shared in our boards by user TTemploy, we have a supposed Japanese text from Takara Tomy which announces a new cartoon-accurate Masterpiece G1 Bumblebee. Additionally, a few minutes later Taghobby website uploaded an entry about Takara Tomy releasing this new Masterpiece. This new Bumblebee mold would include:
- Bumble (Japanese name for Bumblebee) 2.0 Body
- 1 Spike figure
- 1 number plate
- 1 face A
- 1 face B
- 1 effect parts
- 1 laser gun
- 1 card
- 1 intruction manual
The robot design is supposed to be inspired by the animation proportions and design, and even the alt mode would be similar to the not-so-realistic VW Beetle seen in the cartoon. We should expect pre-orders to start on 12th or 13th February to be released by the end of September. Price? Not-so-economic 13000 Yen or $118.33 approximately.
Take this with a grain of salt until we get an official source about it. In the mean time, we can speculate about this new version of Bumblebee. Does this mean a new line of cartoon-accurate Masterpiece toys? Does small Bee deserves such a big price? Ready to sell you MP-21 Bumblebee? Time will tell if this was true or not. Share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

There does not appear to be any differences (other than the price). I have both an original and a ko and from the box to the figure to the accessories, they're nigh-on identical. The one I have even has the Autobot symbols on his chest and hood.
Here's one at TF Safari but if you search on ebay, you'll find him there as well, I'm sure.

I appreciate it, thank you!
Do you know the differences with the KO and the official are?
Sy-Rein
Best of luck to you. He's become quite pricey, at least when I was looking last.
If you're interested though, there is a KO now available. Seen it on ebay and some Chinese e-tailers.

Don’t forget the ice-cream!

Hearts for the license plate, cosmic rust, and metal eating space plant spores respectively.

The hearts are to cover up the Autobot symbol(s) on the license plate(s). Not sure about the rest.

Hello, do anybody know what is this? Thanks.

Slow day indeed! Last time I mentioned measurements, I attracted a mob of raging They might be asleep in daylight though (wait for it…………better arm myself with Ag and garlic )

I'm really not sure how many ways I can say that the size of the gap isn't what I've been talking about. Ho hum.
Throway
That gap has to be like 1 atom wide
mrspingly
Oh, there are certainly far worse gaps! The rear lights in alt mode, the backpack in bot mode. They're much more ugly, but they're result of deeper or more complicated design issues.
The gap I mentioned annoys me more because it's completely avoidable. If the panel were curved then it would look fine whether held snugly against the wheel arch or at a distance, as the gap would be a matching curve that would look okay.
It's the unnecessariness of the little gap that's the problem!

I keep kicking myself that I passed on the official and KO. I even balked at the KO being 60 something bucks and here we are….

Well if that tiny gap that you literally have to search for or be aware of in advance to even notice bugs you more than some of the other uncloseable gaps around the alt mode <cough…rear lights…cough> I just dont know! Fully agree with you though – why is that panel even shaped like that in the first place?

Everytime this thread gets bumped, I keep hoping its because someone has gotten a link for a PO

That picture shows the same angle and gap that annoys me on mine. Whether it's almost impertceptible isn't my point.
My grumble was that the front edge could surely have been curved like the back edge to make it not be there at all.
