We’ve got word that Machinima, who produced the Prime Wars Trilogy of Transformers shows in association with Hasbro, have set all episodes of the three series to private. In fact it goes much further, as it is reported that the entire Youtube Channel is now set to private – and with little warning to the creators who helped to make the content, according to Kotaku’s report. The report also notes that there was no public announcement or advance warning of the closure of the channel.
This all adds up to the fact that Transformers fans can no longer enjoy the trio of Prime Wars Trilogy shows that Machinima produced – Combiner Wars, Titans Return, and Power of the Primes. While far from the best Transformers shows, the series featured several notable elements including the use of Overlord in an English series, the only animated appearance of Victorion and one of the best versions of Megatron.
We’d also point out this is why Transformers shows need physical media releases. If online-only Transformers media disappears, then a part of the Transformers legacy is lost forever – and that means fans who come after us don’t get the chance to experience the Transformers franchise in the same way those of us who watched the shows might. Whether that is for better or worse given the perceived quality of the shows is up to the viewer.

Well, that's sad. Both the fact they closed and everything I saw on this thread. I genuinely liked their TF series, and every time I see someone being happy of their removal and insulting them I feel worse and worse.

Goodbye 2007 Halo 3 videos…

Best wishes that those laid off find their next jobs very soon.

All I have to say is it sucks about the folks losing their jobs. Been there, not fun.

ROTFLMAO.
Sadly, I don't think this the last closure we're going to see from AT&T's Warner acquisitions.
Novaburnhilde
That sucks. They should learn how to code.

Guess that explains why the Prime Wars series was pulled. Sucks for those losing jobs…

There was many bad things about it BUT I did look forward to watching these three movies more than any other show since the Beast Era ended. I did save all of the eps and edited it into a big movie so I am good, but I do miss movies made in this g1ish universe. Made me buy Victorian too. I think Hasbo is really missing out by not making an animation series or movie every year for the line. Im not into comics and thus wont be seeing ANY kind of media tie in

I love this TV show! I was waiting 20 years to see a new series of transformers G1 again.
I am anxiously waiting for the continuation of this.

Machinima was sold to Time Warner two years ago. AT&T bought Time Warner back in December and moved Machinima under Otter Media, which owns Fullscreen and RoosterTeeth, most ntoably.
thedicemaster
hasbro has nothing to do with it.
machinima is undergoing some behind-the-scenes changes, and they hid nearly all their videos.
maxxzander
good! piece of garbage show like that should not even seen the days of light let alone be made!!!

I asked this earlier, do we know why it was taken down?
Maybe in preparation for Hasbro streaming service perhaps or some other type of weird streaming deal? Who knows?

Referencing the title of this thread, and having not really read thru it either, does it really matter that they took the episodes down? I never really thought the series was that great anyway.I felt like it was just the windblade series, with supporting characters and combiner class characters.
Galvatross
You don't come into a Transformers thread on this site and say that you're a better person because you became a "bleeding heart (acronym)" and disowned one's former social/political views as a result of some Transformers fiction. There was no reason to bring that up, period. He can just say he liked the way that relationship was depicted in IDW and leave it at that without bringing up other topics. I would have had no problem with that. But that's not what they did.
Because those people have no idea what they're talking about here, giving them the benefit of the doubt that they are being honest to begin with. Saying that I am bashing all Transformers fiction is simply not true. I'm saying form follows function and that I love Transformers for what it is. Saying you love something for what it is not bashing it by any reasonable standard.
Nor am I saying Transformers fiction and the like is irrelevant. On the contrary, I actually think Transformers fiction often reflects the times it is made in, sometimes better than "high art." I actually generally have more fun with Transformers fiction than artsy poetry and films and the like. Sometimes, depending on the person, it can be more memorable and impactful. There is a time and a place for BOTH. There is nothing wrong with saying that. That is not being "dismissive" of Transformers or "pretentious" by any reasonable stretch.
"Pretentious" would be when people act is if they are superior to people who like super heroes, Transformers, etc. Saying that you don't think anything Transformers is "high caliber," while also admitting to enjoying it and saying other people can enjoy it is not being pretentious.
I am being 100% honest and genuine. I think the one being disingenuous at best is you. You have added nothing to this conversation of any substance. I suggest you stop it.
TCJJ
The sky must be falling, because here I am agreeing with you for the first time ever.
@Galvatross, drop it, you're just plain wrong here, and moving the goalposts a thousand times to tell people how they keep misrepresenting you is disingenuous at best.
Starscream Gaga
You're accusing others of not being able to handle differing opinions and yet a a positive use of a usually derogatory term sends you into a rant. Get some self-awareness. Also, continuously claiming others are misrepresenting you when literally repeating what you said doesn't actually help.
Using terms like "high caliber fiction" is utterly pretentious. In modern days it's things like superhero movies or fictional comic books or long-running TV Series that have far more of an impact on culture than anything else. To act like dismissive of them because they're "brainless popcorn flicks" as if they're not important makes you completely out of touch.
