In a very unexpected announcement, Hascon Website has updated information about the upcoming Hascon 2019. The convention has been postponed.
After the first Hascon convention in 2017, the next convention was not in 2018 as you might expect, instead the next Hascon was announced to be on Sept. 6 – 8, 2019, in Providence, R.I. at the Rhode Island Convention Center and Dunkin’ Donuts Center. Now, the website has uploaded a brief announcement (thanks to 2005 Boards member G1 Cassette Hunter for the heads up) about Hascon 2019:
“Hascon 2019 Has Been Postponed
Our inaugural HASCON in 2017 was a tremendous success thanks to fans like you and we want to ensure we are bringing the most exciting talent, entertainment, experiences and news to our future events.
Please check back for updates or follow us on Twitter and Instagram @Hasbro”
We now need to wait for more information about the new date, or maybe a new location. It seems we won’t have a convention for the 35th anniversary of Transformers. Stay tuned to TFW2005 for any updates. Click on the bar to join to the ongoing on the 2005 Boards!

All I’m asking is if they said anything to a fan about it over the weekend lol.

Fair enough. Just don't pin all your hopes on going to RI for a show this year, or next, or even on getting that official word. I understand holding out hope, but the writing was on the wall the moment they immediately announced no show in 2018.
Blackarachnia1996
I’d rather get confirmation from Hasbro.

It's dead. Let it go. Embrace it.
Calabask
Not at the live thing. Not sure if there was any word at the Fan Media thing.
Blackarachnia1996
Any mention of it at NYCC?
Predakwon
This sucks. I really wanted to take my kids to check it out this year. TFs for my boys and My Little Pony for my daughter. Even it was for 1hr.
Oh well…..

To be fair, most fans aren't like that IRL – at least the ones around my area aren't. Then again, most of the fans around my area don't play the "I'm so offended at nothing" game on the boards in the first place, so who really knows.

So now it's my fault you made an assumption and got mad over it?
I was making a joke about going and hanging out with your friends, regardless of your mutual hobbies. Hence the " " smilie to let you know I was kidding.
The way some of you are always looking to take offense, even when none is offered, and refuse to let something go is a primary reason why this is my default reaction to most cons or meet up suggestions:

My salty response was my reaction to the impression I got from you that exclusive toys are the ONLY reason to go to, or even have in the first place, a convention.
If you get to see your collecting friends every weekend, you're very fortunate. Not all of us have that proximity.
Rodimus Prime
For real?
People were discussing Hascon, and I simply stated I'm kind of glad that we can get the exclusives for a cheaper price and not have to travel thanks to Pulse. Someone made a salty response to my opinion, and so I explained that the 'pros' they listed didn't really matter much to me, while making a joke about the last point (being able to meet people in person). This, in turn, led you to clutch your pearls like I just punted the guy's puppy out of a helicopter and into the Manhattan skyline.
With the amount of butt hurt over a couple of posts, one could be excused for thinking that this sounds less like people being upset that some of us aren't fans of cons in general, and more that they're offended the whole 'prestige' event is gone, along with the over-priced toys that signaled one's attendance.
I'm not saying that's necessarily the case, just that I could excuse someone for getting that impression. View attachment 28390298

Indeed, besides that, why try so hard to point out that you don't need all that stuff in a thread where folks are telling you why they do?
Rodimus Prime
Good thing no one did that then, eh?
MegaMoonMan
I feel exactly the same. I have zero need for any of that.
I've only ever been to TFcons, never anything official – but what I got out of them was more than enough "convention time" for me. I can't imagine what else an official one would provide or what I would need out of one – and I certainly don't need an "all-brands-in-one" Hasbro thing. Keep it robots only, please.

If the in-person experience isn't important to you, that's one thing, but I really don't understand this dismissal of why it should matter to others.
Rodimus Prime
Honestly? Never understood this, especially with something that is a brand like Transformers. Then again, I consider most of the world building done in the past dozen years or so mostly shite. Even when it's someone whose work I consider good, and it is their own story, like Jim Butcher, Brandon Sanderson, etc. I just don't have that innate celebrity worship required to get excited about 'meeting' them and paying for their signatures.
I can do this every week end with people I already know. It's called IRL.
Swoop Dogg
100% agreed!
PoweredConvoy
This I do not believe. As someone who has been to HasCon, BotCon, and unofficial cons. This is certainly not true from my perspective.
stad
Right? I always figured it would go two shows, that Hasbro would rationalize the poor showing at year one as it being a new show, etc. As soon as they announced it would be two years until the next one, we had to know something was up.
Ikkstakk
Well, I'm hitting TFCon next year, come hell or high water. I've not prioritized it for at least five years now, but it's going to the top of the list. This is so much bullshit, 35-year-old franchise and we can't even have an official convention.
