Thanks to a legal document submitted to the United States Securities & Exchange Commission yesterday, we have learned that Paramount Pictures will continue working with Hasbro to produce future Transformers movies.
“Paramount has several multi-picture production, distribution and financing relationships, including its recently extended agreement with Skydance Productions (“Skydance”) and a new overall deal with Hasbro Inc. (“Hasbro”). Under the Skydance agreement, Paramount and Skydance will continue to work together to produce and finance certain Paramount films, and Paramount has a first look on Skydance-initiated projects, including animated films. Paramount’s agreement with Hasbro involves the production, financing and distribution of live action and animated films based on Hasbro’s expansive list of properties. Paramount and Hasbro will also continue to work together on the Transformers and G.I. Joe franchises, including the first Transformers spinoff – Bumblebee – which is scheduled for theatrical release in December 2018.”
While we have heard of the agreement before, this is the first time we are seeing it on a legal documentation. It is also important to note that Transformers and G.I. Joe franchises are highlighted prominently and the fact that the term ‘first Transformers spinoff’ may indicate even more spinoffs in the future.
This submission came directly after Viacom’s annual conference call to close the financial outcome of Fiscal Year 2018. The parent company of Paramount Pictures reported a positive output after 2014.
“In addition to our internal executive team, we enter in — entered into multi-year relationships with Hasbro, which brought us the Transformers and G.I. Joe films.” said James ‘Jim’ Gianopulos, Chairman & CEO. “In film, we have a diverse slate of 13 theatrical releases versus fiscal 2018’s nine releases. These include the latest installment of the Transformers franchise, Bumblebee.”

GI Joe was around when my boyfriend was a kid. And he's a 70s child.
You do make some fair points.
As far as the toys go, PotP is decentish. We own some and like the ones we've got.
Cyberverse has QC probs.
Bay fans are enjoying the Studio Series.
We have the repro re-releases. I haven't bought one yet, because I'm waiting for the one I want.
Plus we are getting Seige and Botbots seems to be a surprise hit.
So I don't think its too bad.

These are two
of the eighties hottest properties. Go joe is a little older but it reinvented itself then and redefined what it was. Gi Joe was having a constant presence on the shelf prior to the second movie. Sure there were lean years but transformers experienced that too. Based on what happened to potp toyline I’d say, the transformers franchise could head for lean years again if the bumblebee movie can’t move toys. I’d prefer to avoid that and they seem to be headed in a correct more g1 direction.

G.I Joe hasn't been doing very well for a while and its far older then Transformers.
The first movie wasn't bad and the toyline was decent. The second was a snoozefest.
Transformers otoh is one of Hasbro's top sellers, so it will do just fine with or without the sucky movies.

Lol the gijoe movie flops killed that line.

Its not going to kill the goddamn franchise, just because the movie-verse isn't doing well. Hasbro, believe it or not, is a toy company. They have a bajillion and one iterations to make money off of. That's not to say it won't croak someday for one reason or another like poor G.I. Joe is. It will, but the movieverse flopping isn't going to be the one to kill it.

No thanks and I'm sooo tired of TF movies that I didn't even bother with the last 2. That being said, I think Bumblebee might actually be the only flower to come out of the stinking pile of shit, that is the live action movie series.
I kinda want to see what Inhumanoids is all about. I can only find clips on YouTube and even the shitty Jem movie had the box set up for grabs, so maybe an Inhumanoids movie would have a boxset too. It sounds like an interesting premise for a great horror flick.
Plus isn't there going to be a M.A.S.K movie in the works by the Fast and Furious director? Where's the news for that at? It sounds like it could be a lotta fun. (Nm I thought the same about the live action Joe movies.)

Keep it civil, ya?

TLK line sold. SS sells. Which is why we've got WFC Siege for Geewun. Sales convinced Hasbro that investing into the mainline Generations on the same level can work for the company.

Im a little confused at what your point is here. Enlighten me…

And yet here you are, insulting people and adding to the general negativity.
Seriously, is there any need to be like that?
I feel like you were specifically attacking me and @Rated X , even though we were having an actual conversation that smoothed out with personal experiences and facts related to our locations.
If I mistook your comments, then my apologies, but it still doesn't call for the negativity that only adds to the general division this fandom suffers from.

It'll be okay dude. Bee didn't cost much to make at like 100 mil bones, so they don't need to break the bank for a win.
All previous films in the red with like 2x Bee's budget and 4x combined revenue after five films. Hence in Bay we trust(ed)

Wow, the levels of autistic screeching in denial on this forum have reached astrological levels.
"But the last films was a flop any nobody buys the toys! I know because my neighborhood in the middle of nowhere is infested with collectors and we have more than 12 retailers per block and all the movie figures are shelf warming while Geewunn flies off the shelves. People beat each other to death in the parking lots over MP figures.
What? Studio series selling out online? Pft, those are real sales, they don't count. It's all in my neighborhood."
Why do I come to this God forsaken place again?

It already happened… 5 times! 2007, ROTF, DOTM, AOE, and TLK

Everything sells hete but lately all the terrorcons have been shelf warming. The only studio series figures that shelf warm here were crobar and ratchet.

Which is why Mission Impossible is doing great for them now.

South central Pennsylvania, with a rather active collector and general audience community. The region I frequent includes five Targets, nine Walmarts, one Kmart and we used to have three TrU's.
The only movie figures that sell are the newest ones, then after they get restocked, nothing moves fast. They'll move, but only during sales and holidays.
In comparison, Generations stuff flies off the pegs. They can be restocked multiple times and they're still hard to find. Can't say that about the last PotP wave of Deluxes, though. Every store has some due to the oddly massive push that got those and Elita-1/Hunn-Grr out there.
So basically, in my somewhat expansive microcosm, movie toys don't sell as well as Generations.
