Last month at New York Comic Con, Hasbro held a special preview event for the upcoming (aka now dropping) Transformers War for Cybertron Siege figures. We were able to open production level figures and dig right in. Included were the first waves of several size classes – Battlemasters, Micromasters, Deluxe and Voyager. We are happy to finally share our shots of the figs! Included are Battle Masters Lionizer, Firedrive and Blowpipe, Micromasters Air Strike Patrol, Battle Patrol and Race Car Patrol, Deluxe Cog, Sideswipe, Hound and Skytread, and Voyager Optimus Prime and Megatron.
We’ve also touched up the pics of the Decepticon reveal shown during the event, so crispy new shots of all those are also included here.
I didn’t fully “play” with these guys while there, I rolled in a little late and focused on the pics while there. However, from what I have handled they are fun figs with a ton of G1 nostalgia built in. I’m personally looking forward to the leaders Ultra Magnus and Shockwave, Soundwave and his cassettes and of course Reflector Refraktor for sure.
Read on to check out our shots from the event(s), and hit the links below to check out in-hand thoughts on the figures from members of the 2005 Boards!

Two days after you die….
We don't know yet, but I'd guess around March

ya i guess its just personal preference, i don't see an issue with it, but it could also be the lighting

Maybe the Allspark cube wasnt as good a comparison after I saw some pics. But if you stand a few feet away from the figure, you wont see tech details, it will look like what happens when a Decepticon tries to merge with the Matrix. And that my friend, looks like crap.View attachment 28135931

Reviews ? You mean those guys who get free figures to help sell them on YouTube ? Cmon now…I'm talking about the boards. (which Hasbro does pay people to read) Also the question and answer sessions at convention pannels. I think Ive read one or two comments embracing all those little lines on this site. Everyone else was either meh or disliked all the little lines.

Yes, it is Starscream

oh ok, i down really see that still
I'm seriously asking?

Ehm, no.
So far.. a vast majority of reviews raves about the actual sculpts.
The only thing I could see them change is toning down the weathering paint apps a bit.

I see what you mean now. I had to google studio ox. I honestly thought it was a company that made statues. I dont get it to too much art or comics. But either way I think Hasbro went overboard on all the little lines and I think they will tone it done next line based on feedback they get from conventions and fan site boards.

But certainly you can see the Studio OX inspiration, right? Magnus is pretty dead on in robot mode. They just made him a Cybertronian vehicle. They are going for a look and nailing it.
This is the start of a new toy line trilogy. It may vary from past Generations lines in aesthetics but isn’t going to stand apart drastically where you can’t display them together imo.

I dont collect 3rd party stuff thats MP scale. But I dont see the resemblance to anything from the Siege line. At least not the aesthetic Im complaining about. Like I said before the vents have vents and the control pannels have contol pannels. Its like they are trying to prove too hard that theyre high tech. Looks like crap next to nice smooth Hasbro figures from previous lines.

Hasbro/TT is definitely taking it to the next level, but the sculpts look great to me.

I dont know what Toyworld is doing these days outside of WWI TLK figures, but back in the day when 3rd party was predominantly CHUG scale, they did stuff that looked more "Hasbroish". Their Throttlebot team didnt have all those little lines. Neither did Orion and Hegemon. I also remember their headmasters line even though it fell apart after 3 figures. Once again, no exaggeration of little lines.

I’m pretty sure that’s Blitzwing?

Actually a lot of us have been big fans of Studio OX styling for decades. Including the likes of 3rd party companies like Toyworld who create almost exclusively in this style.
So I’m thrilled to be getting a mass retail toy line that borrows heavily from works of art from that incredible era.

Im talking about the texture of the pannels. Im not talking about it looking like a build kit. The freaking vents have vents. Some guy at Hasbro got way too excited and needs to chill out. Nobody has ever asked for more lines and tech looking crap on Generations figures. If anything, the fandom has criticized it in Bayverse. Im a Bayverse fan, but I dont want my G1 CHUG figures looking like an allspark cube.
ReadyParzivalOne
its not even close to looking like a lego or model kit

Ah, thank you, I couldn't tell from the pics. This just makes it easier for me to paint Flak, if I can't find a yellow to match, I can just repaint his head to match the yellow paint I use for his chest, etc.

Third party needs a titan-sized Starscream with this surface detailing and fosforescent paint.
Can't say I'm a huge fan of the tetrajet modes but Seekers are characters where I really prefer them having Cybertronian alt modes. With Earth fighter jet modes it's either ridiculously tiny jet mode or a robot mode too big for the rest of the line. Fantasy space jets don't have this issue since there's no way of telling for sure how large those airships should be.
There's no yellow plastic used on both figures in this pack. Actually, there's no yellow plastic used on any of the wave 1 Micromaster figures. Sand yellow on these two and bright yellow on Roadhandler are paint apps.

The Impossible version does indeed beat this Siege Starscream on the tetra jet mode in regards to under kibble, but that's about the only merit it has objectively speaking.
For me, the thing which makes me forgive Siege's tetra somewhat, is the fact it is not a 1-on-1 representation of the way it looks in the cartoon.
It's moreso a 75% interpretation, channeling some Battle Star Galactica and Star Wars proportions & style ; hence, I am not judging it as strict, if it were blatantly trying
to look exactly like the cartoon tetra jet.
The robotmode comparison is of course NO contest.
The surface detailing is of course a subjective matter. But I suspect people who dislike it, would dislike Marvel UK G1 too:

Yeah, that Starscream is really growing on me. I was never a fan of the Tetrajet design, but this one looks nice and fun.
I wasn't not going to get it, but now I know I really will be looking forward to it.
