Fascinations Metal Earth, makers of rather stunning and precise model kits that you may remember, have listed a new Collectible Series line in their 2019 catalog! Featured this time around are Bumblebee, Megatron, Optimus Prime, Shockwave, Soundwave and Starscream.
These amazingly detailed DIY models start as 1-sheets and finish as amazing 3-D color models. Use the easy-to-follow instructions included with the sheet to pop out the pieces, bend the tabs, and connect them at the attachment points!

These don’t look great. Why can’t we get a second wave of their earlier models?

Is Hasbro planning on releasing a Minecraft or Roblox clone? I feel like this sort of an aesthetic might translate well to such a thing. Otherwise I'm just really not sure what market these things are targeting.

Metal Earth… Man. I built their G1 Optimus Prime model a while back. Took about an entire day’s worth of work. The finished product was cool though.
But these are… rather hideous.

I\'ve seen some fugly things in my time.. And these just made the list, by the matrix these look bad…

I built their Normandy from Mass Effect once. It’s hard to get everything to piece together without either breaking the tiny pieces or bending the metal beyond repair. Don’t think I’ll be bothering with any of their stuff, TF or not, any time soon.
Johntimus Prime
Wow, those are ugly. Never been a huge fan of Bumblebee's evergreen design (not every new version needs to look like the movie BB), but those heads are a crime.
Requiem Prime
Shockwave looks okay I'm not feeling how it alters the heads on everyone else.

Soundwave is kinda cute, I guess, but you gotta completely drop the ball for him not to be.
Thus, these are like stabby Cubeecraft that just made their way up from the Uncanny Valley. And, I’d suggest they go back to that valley and demand justice from whoever beat them with the “ugly stick.”
Especially, I can’t find the value in this when Flame Toys are releasing their own SD/Chibi figures under their Deformers model kit line. I am still interested in getting FT’s Soundwave Kit, and this doesn’t dissuade me from that or seem like a worthwhile addition on top of it.

That bumblebee makes a good shank

Let me join in! These really do look like ass. I made the mistake a year or two ago of buying a handful of Metal Earth Transformers and Star Wars kits before trying them. I tried one kit and was immediately unsatisfied. I've been modeling with pla for years, so I guess that's part of it, but these things are really not my cup of energon.

The number of human sacrifices committed by funko pops and their ilk will surely rise, now that they don't hafta climb up counters for a knife.
These are okay I guess. I don't have any strong opinions on them
