Some time ago, we had previously reported that Hero-X, the publisher behind Transformers: Generations collection of books will be publishing the classic Marvel Transformers comics in Japanese.
Hero-X has already released the first volume on February this year and now, via Hero X Twitter we have a look at the amazing cover of Vol. 2 of this collection.
This new cover was drawn by artist Ichikawa Hirofumi, bringing us one of the most iconic moments of Marvel’s G1 comic: The first battle between Megatron and Shockwave.
You can check out the mirrored cover after the jump and then you can share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Ah, just miss spell…
Nevermore
His name is Ichikawa. And he's a longtime Transformers fan, especially of Western fiction (though he prefers the sci-fi aspect and isn't fond of the metaphysical Primus/Unicron stuff).

I cant tell if hes shooting him or doing a shyruken…. the orginal felt much colder

Wonderful cover and it’s great to hear that Takara will be getting these comics.

Megatron: "now behold, as your lives become insignificant, as I reveal my giant robot *crowd gasps* scientist. *Shockwave walks up*
*Crowd sighs*
Guy: thank primus, I thought he was gonna say *****.

Nice, though I don’t think the effect on shockwave’s gun hand works well. Looks a lot like guido’s retro marcel stuff to me.

Lol at Shockwave punching him in the crotch.
The art made me think, I'd be interested in seeing maybe the first few issues with new art. Exact same story and text but new art. Issue 1 had very toy inspired designs.

Legendary, and as it should be: gun vs. gun. I remember it was their similar alt modes that contributed to the epic nature of their conflict. Something that's been lost since they've turned each into spaceships and tanks.

Is it just coincidence that it looks like Shockwave's purple 'punch streak' appears to be coming directly from Megatron's crotch?
