3P Company MAAS Toys have just uploaded on their Facebook account our first image of the color prototype of their upcoming Tyrant Throne.
This a very interesting project. A G1 cartoon-accurate and detailed throne based on the command chair seen on the Decepticon ship Nemesis. The image shows us the throne with Masterpiece MP-36 Megatron sitting on it while recreating a pose from the G1 cartoon. A very nice accessory indeed, and it should be compatible with other figures of the same scale.
We still have no information on release date or price at the moment, but you can check out the mirrored image after the jump. Don’t forget to let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Bummer. If I could get the CAD files, that would be awesome! Thanks for offering.

No I have not. If you want cad files of it let me know.

This is interesting. I hadn't even noticed the actual G1 throne base that you showed in the cartoon reference. Nice work! Have you developed this any further?
bobagorof
That looks familiar.
Nice images.

If you own a 3D printer, you could print your own?

Or there's one that's kind of generic "Decepticonish" but I don't think references any particular episode?

Robot Tyrant's Throne by rbuckbailey
Haven't been able to find a decent Lincoln Memorial throne 3D model but there's bound to be one out there somewhere.
Starman
Well, MP-36 doesn't sit in the TFSource chair. He just kinda leans against it. It works well from the front, but if you look at it from the side you can tell. I think the Maas one would have worked better from both angles.

So I created this Megatron throne based off of the episode 1 cartoon. I still need to do a lot of panel lining work and other details but it a start. Any opinions?View attachment 28744674 View attachment 28744675 View attachment 28744676 View attachment 28744677

The MAAS throne is certainly toon accurate. I wonder how snug and securely MP-36 or any of the 3rd party MP Megs can sit snug and securely in it without tilting over a bit.
I'm sure someone can pick up the ball that MAAS dropped and develop the same style throne.

Nope. I was lucky compared to some. I only pre-ordered their Starscream… but more than a few went in on all 6.
Starman
I have it too. It does the job, but doesn’t look as nice as the Maas one though.
ChromeMagnus
Wow. And from what @Starganderfish has stated in the the Make Toys Masterpiece Coneheads (Dirge, Ramjet, Thrust) thread there is no buyer protection from credit card companies, Paypal etc if you lose your money paying into a crowdfund.
Piemanbegins
I've had it in storage for awhile, but I don't remember having any problems with the plastic quality or anything.
the oaf
Long story-short… they set up a crowdfund for a line of MP scaled Cybertronian seekers, took quite a bit of money from punters, then completely mismanaged everything, lost all the money, and sunk the company.

What happened?
How is it?

And that throne was originally dark grey and came with the Fansproject Severo:

I ended up buying this thing after MAAS Toys fell apart.

Not the one I found a few years ago, but closer to the MAAS version
This is the one I found years ago:

Do you have a link?

I've seen 3D print files for a Decepticon throne available for free, so there are options if you want to fill that gap.
Such Heroic Nonsense
Not their version but another company's own take on it perhaps. It would still make a fantastic accessory to pose a pointing MP36, and with the gap in the market, hopefully another throne will surface.
