The SDCC 2018 Hasbro product panel is finished! We’ve pulled out some highlights from this year’s presentation below – and you can hit the read on link to read more.
- Bumblebee movie will go with a mix of gimmick toys, including Energon Igniters with an Energon Cube, other gimmick toys like DJ Bumblebee and Power Charge Bumblebee.
- Bumblebee movie characters will also be in the Studio Series, kicking off with the Apache helicopter Dropkick (toy is not a triple changer, for information, but the on screen character may be).
- Generations War for Cybertron line kicks off with “Siege”, includes Battle Masters like Firedrive (Firebolt) and Lionizer (Trizer) who come with effect parts. Micromasters so far include Flak & Big Shot, Roadhandler & Swindler, and Red Heat & Stakeout, each pair combining into weapon modes. Deluxes include Sideswipe, Hound, Ironhide, and Chromia, the latter a heavily-retooled Moonracer. Cog (Fortress Maximus’ sidekick in Generation 1) is also in the works, and can transform into weapons for other toys to wield. Voyager Optimus Prime was also shown and billed as highly poseable. Leader class Ultra Magnus shown, who includes a white Prime with clip-on armor and Robots in Disguise 2001 inspired car carrier alternate mode.
- Cyberverse show was shown, which has a stylistic and minimalist look. It was suggested that 90 bots may appear in the show’s first season (we’re guessing most will be cameos).
- Generation 1 reissues (that we already knew about) coming (back) to Wal-Mart
- Other store exclusives include Target exclusive Titans Return Soundwave
- Hall of Fame inductees are Blackarachnia (fan vote character), Battletrap (fan vote toy of 2018), and John Barber (creator inductee).

I think the battle damage looks good on Prime. If they make them super Greebly they could bring those details out with a wash. I just hope they can find a way to make it consistent.

The Hype Train keeps moving. Now with Prime and Ironhide.
I didn't take these pics, I just scavenge the net for the best ones FYI.
Prime has some cool stuff going on with his legs.

WishfulThinking
Multiforce? As in Diaclone Gats Blocker?
EDIT: Nevermind, I think you're talking about Landcross. Although Gats Blocker would actually work better in the "weapons/vehicles combining to form a robot" sense.
Edwardmus Prime
Flak is the only Micromaster I have any real attachment to but not going to lie, after noticing the wheels in place of hands I can't help but always be staring at them when l try to look at his pictures.
Stakeout was pretty cool in the comics, though, and he's pretty good looking here.
Roadhandler looks quite feminine for some reason. I'm thinking it's the chest design and the thin body with thunderous thighs.
Guess tiny cars kind of make more sense on Cybertron, along with giant bikes that have cockpits as with Cybertronian modes in previous lines. That's warming me to these guys a lot. Love small bots, too. It's weird that none of these are very Cybertronian, though.
AlienRadio
Roadhandler does not appear to share parts with stakeout although they must share similar enginneering. Does stakeout have balljointed knees? Roadhandler's are pinned. why not balljoints for both? roadhandler has waist swivel too I think. these guys are going to be amazing.
Dinobot Snarl
I believe this is Road Handler, I had him as a kid:

Yeah, I hope the Ark mode is faithful to the original design, as well. Personally I won't be too bothered if they make a few changes here and there to Omega Supreme's robot mode to the benefit of his starship mode.
AlienRadio
I've just noticed Waist Articulation on theRedHot/Bigshot mold, Very impressive. Also massively surprised that they aren't releasing these in Gangmolded pairs or are they just blocking off the parts for the respective gangmolded characters, Fixit and Sidetrack respectively? what's the parts layout for these molds?
Dinobot Snarl
MicroMasters fun:

If they're released as deluxes well get weapons!
I hope he doesn't parts form….unless he's a headmaster, and the head is a tank. I'd rather they start with the Ark first and make concessions on the bottom mode.
Hanzkaz
I might actually be happy with that. Trypticon's Nemesis mode wasn't quite what I hoped it would be. I don't want an Omega Supreme whose ship mode only vaguely resembles the original Ark due to design compromises.
I'm expecting an Ark that splits in two, Star Wars Transformers Millennium Falcon style, into the upper and lower parts of Omega Supreme's robot mode, which can also turn into a tank and a rocket.
AlienRadio
Battletrap deserves his win. Amazing engineering. I don't think they're abandoning the concept, I just think he's a Preview figure, Warden said they needed some decepticon legends to balance the assortment out, and Seemed to imply that he was DESIGNED as a deluxe. It's been very clear with the long Lead times That there's a big submerged iceberg of library designs and the planning is being done to maximise them and mold reuse, via shared parts and engineering. I kind of hoped Cog was going to be done this way since Gasket and Grommet were seperate entities. I think Flyweels and Multiforce are already in the pipeline (multiforce teased via surprisingly accurate Chinese SocialMedia Leak during TR) whether I think there's enough characters to release duocons/multiforce at deluxe level rather than legends I dunno, but it feels like that might be a thing, we're still expecting the rest of the Deluxe Insecticons. firecons, Sparkabots and throttlebots (also can haz triggercons/bots plz?)
RotorstormNZ
I'm confused – the Cybertronian alts ARE vehicles and not beastmodes, so what's your point? Cybertronian vehicles still equal vehicles.
BWfan86
You have got to believe that adults are a major focus of many of the TF lines. Do you think kids give a damn about movie and scale accurate figures like in the studio series? Or the nuances incorporated into the generations line figures? As a kid, I didn't. I just wanted a cool figure of a character I liked or that had an interesting gimmick.
deathzero23
Did someone in the panel bother to ask Hasbro peeps why they kept bombarding people with too much Marvel Legends this year?
Have you noticed how many waves they released just this year?
we have 3 waves tying Black Panther and Infinity War
then add the comicbook based waves & box sets.
and we have the MS 10th box sets.
and we have incoming Venom, S//dr and Sauron series.
Jtprime17
Have a listen at the 13:05 mark They're not ignoring it. It takes 2-5 years to develop a new line and I think it safe to say something is coming for the 25th anniversary.
objectionLogic
I like how fans keep showing their hunger for a return of Beast Wars, and Hasbro just keeeeeps ignoring it lol.
You can't even use the excuse that beastformers don't appeal to consumers as well as vehicles, considering we're getting an entire toyline focused mostly on Cybertronian alts.
Welp, meet back here in 6 years and hope again, BW fans? lol.

There was a time I've always wanted to go to SDCC just once, but I've been told tickets sell really fast.
However, just recently. I had a visit from some distant relatives who visited from San Diego. My family mentioned about that and they told me just maybe they can help me go next year.
GoldDeadEnd
I could see maybe the rest of the space Micromasters included as well.
T-Hybrid
It's still a kids toyline though.
