How disappointing
Cosbydaf
I hope so, that would be cool.

Okay, is it just me or does it look like the new bee toy is going to have a transformation gimmick that allows him to look both like the smaller version that we see in the trailer as well as the larger winged door version that we all know. Something about the way the knees look makes me think he can compress.

I promised myself when I came back that the only Movie Bee I wanted was the then-rumoured SS Bug Bee. And then they go and show us the little Mainline guy! I wonder if someone'll do a G1 head for him?…

I’m pretty convinced that that’s just an upscaled and tweaked studio series figure at this point. From what we can see it looks like it has the exact same transformation.
I find this design strangely appealing in a way not many transformers are, let alone bayformers…and despite my plans to strictly buy masterpiece from now on, I will probably end up with the studio series at the very least.

Yeah, it's a shame they haven't done a better job with the wheels on the legs – I hadn't noticed that the power core figure had the wheels in the legs hidden; that does look much better. I also fear that the supposed leak of the MPM a while back was real, as that had the same door and wheel design as all the other toys we've seen so far.
This is exactly what I'm hoping. I'll probably pick up the Studio Series version too, as I do love the head sculpt, but hopefully the MPM will be just as good in that department (they nailed it with MPM-03).
Prime135
My guess is that the MPM was initially meant to be revealed around the time of the film’s original release date. But when it was pushed back, an opportunity was seen for a redesign, which is why we haven’t seen the figure yet.

The more I see of this new design, the more I wish he looked like this back in 2007.
Maybe this new film will be the first step in restoring bee to his roots.

Hah! Watch them put a pin in it this one time…

While the inability to hide the wings on bug bee is unfortunate, if it's anything like tlk bee the wings won't be on pins and will be easy to remove and reattach as needed. Not ideal, but it's better than nothing.

I have to say that they have done a sterling job on Bumblebee's face sculpt:

A bit of silver Sharpie on the lines around the crest and on the vents, plus a bit of black wash on the silver and that will be pretty much perfect.
They also did a great job with his body and proportions:

It's just a bit of a shame that you have to ignore the giant backpack and door wings (most of the car seems to be hanging off his back)…

I can imagine the toy designer being all excited about the design: "And we finally got the door wings sorted so that the lower wings are made out of the rear windows. It looks *exactly* like the pictures you gave us!" "Er, about that…"
Still looking like a great figure, though. I just hope that the MPM version looks a little like this but with the door wings sorted, the leg wheels hidden, and better plastic and paint. They worked wonders with MPM-03, after all, in the way the whole roof of the car split up and tucked away inside his chest. (It's also a shame they didn't get such a good head sculpt on the 1977 Camaro figure – I'd love a better version of that, that actually looks more like the 2007 film version.)
