Beast Wars Masterpiece Megatron coming to the US? Yesssss.
Via Entertainment Earth, we’ve got word that there might be a US release for Masterpiece Beast Wars Megatron in the future. The listing suggests this is going to be an import of the Takara-Tomy release, given the use of the same stock images and the same designation, MP-43. It may be this is going to be like the other Masterpiece we’ve heard might be in the works for the US, Prowl, who is stated to be coming to the US via specialty stores via Diamond distribution and other such distributors.
The release comes with an eye-watering pricetag, though – $319.99, but it comes with free shipping at least. Release date is stated to be February 2019, so around the same time as the Japanese release, maybe up to a month later. SDCC is around the corner, so maybe Hasbro will tell us more about this there, and more generally the future of Masterpiece Transformers in the US.
Watch this space. Yesssss.

Glad I pulled the trigger on him when he was $200. Goddamn.

Well, I’m guessing this old thread will be locked soon.
Not sure what your point was in posting that.

Ok too many threads on the same topics on this website. Anyhoo baloo. I was wondering if this would get a US release hoping the electronics are stripped to make it cheaper. Nope still too expensive. 319 american

Because I used Amazon JP for Dinobot, we'll never have that priviledge
Hiro Prime
In Previews #360, Masterpiece Beast wars Megatron is being offered for $319.99.
It is scheduled to be shipped in February 2019.
So if you haven't ordered yours yet and you'd like your local Comic Shop to carry it, I'd let them know in the next week or two that you're interested.

After looking at amazon.jp, I cant believe I haven't used it before. If nothing changes, I'll get Mp-43 for less than what I'm paying for Dinobot.

There are no options. Only one method. The best.

Ok never did it before. Will check out the shipping options. Thanks.

You can't use Amazon Japan Prime for free shipping in the States. You still have to use Amazon Global Mail, which is an additional fee.
It's still cheaper than what you're paying US retailers.
jackisking
Unless you live in japan, no.

If I order through amazon.jp, do I get free shipping if I'm a prime member now, or when it ships. Dont really want to pay for membership if I'm just using it for this figure. Now I just have to figure out what the stuff that went translate says.

+1, especially regarding the removable parts
GizmoTron
Yes, because every toyline features removable backpack pieces that can be reattached and still be a part of the transformation, that just happens all the time and doesn't increase parts count and costs like at all…
At least I'm not being a tool on a message board complaining about how toys cost too much but then turn around and still buy them all anyway.
The word TF fans don't know yet is "fucked", not "premium collectibles". It wasn't an insult to the fan, just his choice of whiny melodrama. You'd probably know that if you weren't so quick to take the chance at being the admitted ass that you forgot to read the entire post. But that's ok, I forgive you.

Do they need a special license to import purple T rexs with sharp teeth?
Treadshot 2.0
In fairness to the people debating you, being 80% similar in overall looks and transformation scheme doesn't mean that this figure isn't 100% (or even more) complex in terms of parts count, engineering, etc. Just off the top, the mechanism for collapsing his backpack into the far more compact show model as well as giving him a full left hand probably adds more than 20% difference.
Treadshot 2.0
Where did I insult a fellow fan first? "check out the world of actual premium collectibles sometime, because frankly Transformers fans don't yet know the meaning of the word" was in the post I replied to.
oh, I see… I wasn't responding to your post, I was responding to GizmoTron. Sorry for the confusion.
Also, when I flat-out call someone a presumptuous dick, I'm not trying to take the high road. I'm just taking the regular-ass road. LOL
BWfan86
I don’t buy (or even follow) SOC or voltron figures, so I cannot make the comparison with those
SPLIT LIP
Well, you were the one insulting your fellow fans first. Not sure you get to take the high road, there.
Neither one of you is really coming across as very sympathetic.
Would you say the same about, say, SOC Voltron? That's pretty much just a more articulated version of the original. Exact same transformation, too. People praise that figure yet it's about as simple as simple comes.
I mean, of course he's going to resemble the original figure. That's what the CGI model was based off of.
