Straight from IDW Publishing themselves comes the three-page preview for next week’s Lost Light #20! Featuring artwork by veteran Transformers artist Casey Coller, the second chapter of “Crucible” has Ratchet’s team of doctors work on a cure for the Sparkeaters hunting them, while Rodimus and Cyclonus tangle with Getaway, Star Saber, and their new ally. You can check it all out after the break, and then pick up the issue when it releases on July 11!

Lol.

Well, if the author has, how can we blame the reader?
halo4361
Right! Don't know how I forgot about him.

Always good to see Coller's art, though the brief fight scene between Scorponok and Rodders is a bit sterile. Better angles, some speed lines and more impact behind Scorpo's punches would do wonders. The "witty banter" is a bit grating though. Still, I do apprectiate how the cure seems to be a convoluted sci-fi version of percussive maintenance. Always liked crazy stuff like that in the series.

I don't think "Breakaway Prime" sounds that bad.

Those guys aren't point one percenters though. The only ones that are among the group are Grimlock and Magnus.

It's not about space robots using British slang or American slang or whatever else, it's more that some of us feel that there are bots who use it and it just doesn't feel like something they would say or fit them.
Anyway, my complaint about this is everyone's reaction to everything. Or rather, underreaction. Because it really undercuts the situations atmosphere if not even the characters are interested in what's going. And no, making a "meta" joke about doesn't make it any better either.

Considering it's Rodimus we're talking about, I'd have gone with:

It's also *supremely* verbose!! =) I mean, he had time to rattle off a whole essay. Maybe Scorponok's "as opposed to?" is because it seems like they're just doing friendly play-fighting!!
Chopperface
Rodimus’ comeback, the pay-off, anyway, is as bad as when Arcee told Starscream “geeeeeet fraaaaaaaaaaaagged” in Prime and oooooh it was supposed to be dark and edgy. The whole line sounded more like something Megatron or Magnus would say anyway.

Sure, I'll rephrase! What sort of "British slang" did the Transformers use in those issues?
justiceg
I couldn't help but notice the Itunes preview text has an additional sentence that doesn't show up in any of the other previews I could find…
"Their rivalry comes to a head – and one of them may lose theirs!"
Spoiler?

Yes, more Cyclonus vs Star Saber, please.
AlienRadio
Neutral language is a loaded term here.

Normally I'd be extra hype about getting 3 TF books in one week but all I'm all that exited for is this one.
Even Unicron looks disappointing…

I've read Man of Iron. Are there instances in that story where the Transformers are speaking using British slang vs. neutral language that I haven't seen?
AlienRadio
This. English Vernacular in transformers comics goes back a LOOOOOOOONG way, Man of Iron was reprinted in the original US run. June 87, for those of us that ARE British, 1985.

I would argue that an editor would've asked for the slang spoken by a Transformer to be less region-specific (i.e. not overly North American, not overly European…neutral language). But that same trend has been present since Roberts has been writing, hence what I mean by there not being tooooons of editing.
Bathawk
Ah extraterrestial robots who can speak "American" English is no less weird….give the series character
