Good news for Chilean collectors! Via a different posts from Transformers Chile Facebook group and Transformers Chile Fan Page we got word that Studio Series Leader Class Wave 1 is finally Out At Chilean Retail.
Blackout and Grimlock were spotted at Ripley mall at the center of Santiago. Each one for 49990 Chilean Pesos or $76.43. Studio Series really got a great distribution all over South America compared to previous lines.

Im not sure if I would consider it fair trade. We know what US retailers can sell them for and still turn a profit. So the question is how much does it cost in import taxes/tariffs to get a shipping crate full of toys into a foreign country? Im sure it varies from country to country, but if it still comes out relatively cheap, then they are using the economy as a excuse to fabricate prices that shouldnt exist. Im no economist, but if im paying maybe $25 for a figure that retails for $50, what justifies raising the price to $100? Lets assume the profit margin is supposed to be $25 per figure by Hasbros recommended price. When you break down the import fees for the entire shipping crate, does it really come to $50 a figure to justify $25 profit made per unit? Or is this just price gouging because the government doesnt go after small businesses? Its not like they have to compete with walmart so they apparently do whatever the f**k they want with the prices. Thats my opinion.

well i aleady said that in the colombian sightings, food is cheap not only reastaurants, well, even movie theaters
so i think is kinda of a "fair" trade i guess

Damn im speechless. Ive never been to Columbia but I have traveled to countries with similar economies. What trips me out is the food is always half the price of US resturaunts, but when it comes to anything imported its either the same or way higher.

Yup compared to the rest of the world, fans in the US have it good with more affordable pricing for their TFs.
For other parts of the world..we just take it in our stride that's all. They're ways to deal with it i.e. wait for storewide discounts, clearance sales or the local secondary markets to get 'em at more favorable price.
