Distribution of various items from the Transformers: Bumblebee movie toyline is taking place at the moment and distributors from various international markets are receiving new listings from Hasbro. It just so happens that we received an updated list of toys for the movie.
Collector oriented line is absorbed into the Studio Series but a gimmick based line is the highlight this time. Apart from the Energon Igniters line, several electronic based figures are also highlighted on various listings. For this listing, we are treated with Power Core Bumblebee. What’s interesting to note is the fact that the product details highlight a completely new transforming mechanism.
Despite the words Power Core and Energon Ignitor Core, the Bumblebee figure seems to be an entirely different toy to the Energon Igniters line.

Where’s the main line???? Those are the Studio figures for the movie???

SDCC and the reveals can’t get here fast enough. I am tired of all the codenames and speculation. I’m going to buy it, just tell me what it is Hasbro.
SilverOptimus
That Voyager listing later turned out to be Energon Igniters Barricade.
But you are right, Hot Rod is oddly appearing on multiple listings. BUT, there are only 4 Studio Series figures for Bumblebee movie. Bumblebee is one of them and the other code names being Blue Light, Mercenary and KSI Sentry.

Dude I was 11 when ROTF came out. That line was my childhood.
I mean, I figured we would get a few extra characters then would appear in the film, Optimus was bound to happen, Hot Rod just seems like an add choice unless Hasbro really just wants to push him again like they have been doing latetly.
Also, of course I’m aware not every character gets figures but you would think in a movie with four of them from what we know, all of them would recieve truckloads of toys like how the main cast of RID got an endless onslaught of figures. Plus, Warden stated with the SS line that they wanted to do some characters that had never gotten figures figure. Even if some of those ideas get dropped when the line gets rebranded for Bumblebee, you would think that mindset would remain.
Also I have to ask. You said the Destroyer codename is Barricade right. Wasn’t there a voyager SS figure under that same codename?

Energon Igniters? What is that? Have 3 waves in it?
Like One-Step action toys?
SilverOptimus
That's a Decepticon. Movie toys usually have characters which are not featured on movies (remember how many there were for ROTF?). Also, some characters that are in the movies never get a toy (Onslaught, Mohawk).
Purple Heart
Well we know there are four Cybertronians in the movie. We know of Bumblebee(and Bumblejeep), Barricade, and Starscream. The only vehicle we have unaccounted for is the red Chrysler, and now we have Hot Rod toys? But the red Chrysler is a Decepticon right?
SilverOptimus
With help from Nevermore, we deciphered that codename 'Cougar' is Hot Rod and 'Destroyer' is Barricade. The updated character list is below:
Energon Igniters – Speed Series ($5.99)
Energon Igniters – Nitro Series ($19.99)
Energon Igniters – Power Series ($9.99)
Unlisted ($14.99)

Here\'s hoping \"Red Light 1\" is a cliffjumper with horns….

Well, that's true, if we not count more than 1 autobot.
SPLIT LIP
But he did list three 'Cons.

I unironically want this to happen

Given Hasbro lately all the Unknowns will be Bumblebee and Optimus repaints
Stealth Mode BB

"Nitro Series"
Obviously a Nitro Zeus focused line.

Yes.
I feel like the Transformers movies have always had this issue; the fans are desperate to know who the characters are but the execs consider the robots to be major spoilers (WTF?) since apparently every Transformer in the movie is akin to The Vision in Age of Ultron; can't show them so people can be 'surprised', or we see them all in Toyfair but only because they are pushing the upcoming toyline early
I suppose this is why Hot Rod was such a big deal in TLK; they revealed a new Autobot without hemming and hawing over non-spoilers

Only five weeks to SDCC, hopefully we'll get to see some of this stuff, and who the characters are (as well as the G1 and Movie Generations lines).

My wallet will be happy at the smaller amount of characters and various price points. Well played TF, well played. Meanwhile there's Optimus that I can add to my collection. That sweet, sweet retro Semi look.
