Transformers: Bumblebee movie star actress Hailee Steinfeld and star actor John Cena is informing their fans that the new movie is undergoing reshoots at the moment.
We have to keep in mind that it is common to see reshoots for any movie these days, and Bumblebee: The Movie is no exception. The movie is currently in post-production and earlier in May, director Travis Knight mentioned that several tweaks are taking place to accommodate feedback from the Test Screening which happened on the last week of March.
The Wrap Party for the movie was held back in November, but the movie is said to be on schedule for its December 21 release; even with the reshoots that are happening currently.

After seeing the released trailer, and with Hasbro's Brian Goldner saying the movie is "…an alternative; a different chronology…" (aka reboot), I'm hoping the reshoots were for talking scenes with Bee… *prays*

That’s awesome!
I share your eagerness about this movie, once I heard he was attached. A lot of people have suddenly perked up to this once they heard he was involved, because of Kubo and his involvement in things like Coraline. He seems to be pretty well respected. I also fear studio interference, but from what we have gathered recently it sounds like they may have trusted Travis Knight to handle this.

I am familiar with Knight's work (actually got to meet him at an event for Kubo prior to it coming out!). What he and Laika studios have done, made me very eager for the Bumblebee movie, but I am apprehensive, as I could see this being a bit like when Tim Burton directed the 1989 Batman film.
That film was a form of compromise between Burton, the studio, and the producers. Burton's fingerprints aren't as deeply embedded into that film as the 1992 sequel though, and I am a little concerned about how much of Knight's vision will be onscreen.

I'll be happy if most of the Cons survive to the credits.

I don't think the reshoots are a bad sign, but I don't think they're being done to change the movie into a reboot. Most (if not all) big movies do reshoots. A lot of the time it's just for simple things, like to film a scene from a different angle. In editing, maybe they realized they wanted John Cena's character to smile instead of frown at a certain moment. That sort of thing.
A couple movies have done extensive reshoots to change the entire ending, but we have no indication that's happening here.

That moment when a 12 year old tries to troll.
Reshoots always happen in Hollywood nowadays.
Have you ever seen Kubo And The Two Strings? That is a Travis Knight movie, and even though I personally never saw it, I know it was highly successful and people very much enjoyed it.

Actually at this point it's not really a bad sign either. Most movies undergo reshoots, in fact they almost always have to, near the tail end of principle photography.
it's when you hear about extensive reshoots months before release when there's already been trailers and advertisements that's cause for concern. At this point the movie logically shouldn't be anywhere near finished yet, so them doing reshoots (hopefully to lessen connections to the previous series) now is ideal.
Boring like the fact that it actually focuses on characters and their dynamics instead of mindless action?
Because we've heard very little about this movie except for one scene which by description alone has more sincerity in it than all five of Bay's movies put together.

Or ball gag.

I wonder if they'll have to digitally remove bumblebees mustache

Reshoots and reboots… two things these boards apparently don't understand.

I’m going to assume you’re not familiar with Travis Knight’s work if you’re worried about that. This guy isn’t just on a completely different page than Bay, he’s in a completely different book.

Thank you for this well thought out and constructive post.
We really value your input.

So, is this just going to turn into "The John Cena movie with some yellow-bug-robot-thingy?"
Hopefully, Travis Knight will try and keep Bumblebee at the forefront, rather than Bay's way of just saying, "look, I got a strong male lead, a sexy hot female, and…this other guy!"

What? No it' not if it' like a month before release then yea but we are months away it happen to deadpool 2 look how that turned out
NaSMaX
Reshoots?…… goddammit…. that never a good sign….
snokoan
Wtf please explain what you mean boring or else you're just asking for attention
CobraKai
I’m hoping that Michael Bay is secretly handling the reshoots because everything I read about this movie screams “BORING!” Paramount needs to show something really exciting when the trailer drops.

Yet your reboot is going to be sucking balls
SpectrumBelle
This. Reshoots are incredibly common, even standard as is the case with pickup shots.
