Helping out fellow collectors can be a pretty thankless endeavor.

I don't know why someone would rule something like that out. People have been scoring popular figures at discount retailers for years. And TR Fort Max happened just last year. A lot of collectors don't want to pay retail on principle, not just because of financial limitations, so of course waiting for Ollie's/Ross/etc. has been the default approach/viable option.

I also sent a couple of Ramhorn's out at $9 each. That's $5 for the figure, less than a dollar for the bubble mailer, and around $3 for first class shipping (includes tracking).
I like helping others, but seeing them being taken advantage of (not at all saying you did) makes me hesitant about who I help.

People are the worst.

Earlier this year I tried to help out with the 5 Below Ramhorns. I shipped out 5 of them just for cost plus shipping with tracking. But i stopped after having to deal with the complaints. People don’t seem to realize that hey, there’s tax and shipping fees with tracking isn’t cheap. Stamps aren’t .28 cents anymore either.

Going forward when a TR or similar sized city bot/con hits the market, I'll simply wait for it to hit Ollie's for cheap.

That, good sir, is some fine dino AND bargain hunting. Very nice score indeed! I'm still pretty content i got mine for $75 from Amazon last holiday. No Ollie's in my area so that's about as good as it gets for me.

The ironic thing is I remember when TR Trypticon first came out and was being sold at regular retail price, I posted something about me deciding to wait until it goes for super cheap at Ollie's like with TR Fort Max. At least one person replied to my post saying they doubt it would happen and that I shouldn't get my hopes up. Well, several months later here we are.

Nice. All 3 Ollie's in my area sold out within a day.

Today I called each Ollie's in my metro area until I found one that still had it. I picked up 2 of them. In addition they knocked the price down to $34.99 each because the boxes were beat up a little.

Hey does anyone know if the Indianapolis Ollie’s has any trypticons there?

What's asinine is that USPS shipping doesn't scale much from pound 1 to pound 5 until you cross a postal zone and it jumps an order of magnitude. Small packages so heavily subsidize larger packages that it re-tards the volume of commerce that should be going through the postal service and driving costs down.

Happened to me last year with Fortress Maximus, I bought an extra one for a board member and returned it when they dropped off the face of the Earth. That's why with Trypticon I limited myself to letting people know where it was and when….
