Ever since interview snippets from John Cena and Hailee Steinfeld came into existence, Transformers Live Action Movie Fans wondered when they’ll hear from Travis Knight; the director of Transformers: Bumblebee. For many months he was silent. Following the immense success during CinemaCon 2018, Mr. Knight finally shared his views with the audience.
The director stated that it was a new experience for him to direct a live action movie as opposed to stop-motion animation he is familiar with.
Additionally, he touched on the subject of a Test Screening; which we heard before from journalist Jeremy Conrad. The director stated that several tweaks are taking place based on the feedback received from the screening.
It was also mentioned that the robot cast will be kept at a limit and the story will stand on its own. Regarding the mythology, Hasbro has offered the Transformers Brand Bible to the director for reference purposes.
“So, what I was kind of trying to do with this film because it’s set in the 80s, was harken back to the great, original, G1 vibe and feeling and tone. So, there are definitely Easter eggs for fans who are down with that sort of thing. There’s a lot of continuity between this and the film’s that Michael has done. But the film does stand on its own.”

Way too early to write off the film. We haven't even gotten a trailer much less all the marketing to see what sort of fans they are aiming for. One picture and some really short soundbites certainly aren't enough for me to really form an opinion on the movie yet. It's a different production team so it's not like there is any track record to run on at this point.
It would be sort of like attempting to judge the Christopher Nolan Batman Begins from just the first time an entertainment reporter could get an aside with the people involved and a shot of the Gotham skyline.

Russian Fan really, really hates the fact TLK exists, because it took everything that AoE did (which I personally think AoE was worse purely because it ruined everything I thought was good in the films and replaced it with unimaginitive bullshit being paraded around as anything but) and threw it away for some stupid plot about knights and Merlin.
Ephland
TLK was a standalone film? Huh?
NemesisPrime12
Yeah, everyone that wants transformers movies franchise to continue needs to at least give BB movie a try. The studios have tried to give us their best. Why don't we

@Russian fan, don't listen to the"Negatrons".
Give the Bumblebee movie a try, and I believe you won't be as disappointed as you may think you'll be. Sincerely, G1DeadEnd.

seriously, at this point the Transformers movies are considered a joke by most of the internet.

You need to understand that even the films could not escape the franchise's need to reboot.
Congratulations, you and several other people are die hard fans who don't want the movies to end, even though you very clearly despise the crap out of TLK. Hasbro/Paramount aren't about to pull a DOFP and retcon that film out of existence, they're incapable of such a feat.
You have to let it go, let it die already. Your obsession with the films not going your way is quite frankly UNHEALTHY.

The history of Transformer has been about rebooting so that kids wouldn't have to know about characters before they were born just to get into Transformers. It's hardly been death of all things Transformers just because Hasbro said okay now we are going to Beast Wars, now we are going to Transformers Animated, okay now we are going to do Transformers Prime. Even the comic books start over when they switch over to another publishing company. Transformers is a rough brand to follow if you can't swing with change.

We've known that this movie is a standalone movie since it was first announced. It's a Bumblebee spinoff, not a direct prequel to the main story. It's basically what Ant-Man is to The Avengers, I don't see anything wrong with that, if anything it helps build the universe you love even more. That much being said, it could still tie in to the 2007 film, we don't know what's going to happen in it.
I wouldn't say Hasbro is flushing nine years down the toilet for G1 stuff. This is the first movie out of five to be a heavy G1 homage, and it makes since because it's set during the 80s. That's like complaining Guardians of the Galaxy flushed six years of Marvel down the toilet for '80s nostalgia. It's just one little throwback movie. If they end up making episode 6, I'm sure it will be closer to the tone and look of the other movies. Making one movie for the longtime fans isn't betraying the brand, it's just a one-time thing.

So, it is standalone movie not fully connected to the Movieverse? Like TLK? "Great". He at least said in advance. I'm just frustrated, how insanely Hasbro want to flush in the toilet 9+ years of sensational and phenomenal MichaelBay's Movies, and replace them with stinky old G1 shit. Fuck you, Hasbro you are killing the brand. That's funny, that millions of people from general audience DON'T read this interview and wait normal prequel to TF1!

Well…we are going to end up with a bunch of new Bee toys and I can see how some people are a wee bit tired of him.
He's sorta becoming the Wolverine of the Transformers-verse.
Moy
His best attempt at explaining the plot. Lol
I believe he apologized for this a while ago. He said he was too busy working on transformers, so too much on his mind.

It's going to vary by person.
For the people that never liked the Bay movies or who got completely burned out on the Bay movies even the slightest connection to the Bay films is serious mark against the movie. For some people now it's a total reboot or nothing.
If you've grown to hate radio speak well it's back again. Or maybe he beeps this time like Transformers Prime. Whatever the case is some people just don't want to deal with some attempt at being cute with mute Bumblebee. At this point I'd be fine if there was never another mute Transformer for the rest of my life.
Bumblebee is the kids appeal character and while kid appeal characters might be great for kids everyone doesn't love a kids appeal character. Since they seem to be going for some heart and soul with this film expect the kids appeal factor to get cranked up to 11.
Some people are just sick of Bumblebee because between the live action movies and the cartoons it feel like we are constantly being pushed the character. It's not that different from say when Marvel would over push Wolverine and fans would go from love him to sick of him. Or how GI Joe fans grew to hate Snake Eyes because he not only took over the Marvel comic book but every damn wave of toys it was another damn Snake Eyes figure.
While Paramount came up with the unexpected good film once in a rare while like Arrival, 10 Cloverfield Lane, or A Quiet Place the vast majority of the Paramount films in recent years have been real stinkers. They are kind of like the reverse Pixar. So just playing the odds the safe bet is to expect a stinker from Paramount.
With the baggage it will take the Bumblebee movie a while to win people over. Plus you have to remember none of us here have seen any of the footage yet and there is no trailers so all we really have to go on is stuff we've read in news stories on the internet. Perhaps attitudes will change once there is more to go on.
MrSoundmeister
It would add a cherry on top if somewhere Thundercracker and Skywarp are talking behind his back.
"Did we get all of that?"
"Not a clue."
"To be honest, i can totally see this plan messing up."
"What gave you that idea?"
"Well, what if this Allspark ends up being in the hands of the native fauna, like umm… these "humans" for instance, wouldn't it make it some sort of obstacle towards our objective, especially if Unicron is full of these said "Humans"?"
"*Laughs* That's ridiculous! How could Unicron EVEN have those creatures, not unless Unicron happens to be-"

You think I don't agree with you there?
If forced and convoluted by which I didn't explain anything clearly.Otherwise… I dunno.
I think it's all funny to me in the end. I'm not taking this too seriously.
