Never played it much but my brother did, and I just got into deckbuilding when it first started. Kinda all I did, but played the occasional game with him and his mates and learnt their style which I think got pretty elite. Always liked making highlander decks to utilise different artwork as much as possible…

Feathers are a nonsense spread by hollywood big wigs.
NONSENSE!

Victorion is named after a robot from a video game called Brave Saga 2.

Thanks for answers gentlemen! I'll definitely check out those suggestions. I am certainly leaning towards th silly end but I do want to try and build some cheap-ish dioramas for other ideas (battlefields etc). Here was something I did real quick when that marvel "most ambitious crossover" meme was a thing
Re: neca
I can certainly understand those complaints, and to be honest as I acquire more of them I see it more readily. I think overall I am happy with the cost-to-figure ratio buy I have had some toruble. My stitches figure broke literally out of the box, his one army just came off at the elbow. I was able to repair it but it was super unfortunate. At the end of the day I think they are fine (mostly again due to bring the only option period for some things I want), but I can agree with the discussion as far as the flaws. I think you guys have a reasonable and respectable take on it.
Re: card games
Oh boy. I have an unfortunate amount of knowledge because either realized the other day as my wife and I were recording that I've been playing ccgs/tcgs for over 20 years across dozens of different games. If you liked VS previously there is a new version (vs 2pcg). It allows for customization but the "packs" are set cards and amounts. So if you buy the base marvel battles set there will be a list of suggested preconstructed decks and you get full playsets of all the cards. They follow the LCG method of netrunner and other Fantasy Flight games (there's a funny/sad story about why it is the 2pcg). It is not the same as the old VS card game however. I bring it up only because it was mentioned on the show.
As for other games and concepts I could go on forever so I'll cut it short at that.
Anyway, thanks again keep up the great work!

I think they game Vangelus was trying to think of is Android: Netrunner. It's branded as a "Living Card Game" where you buy a core set which has all the cards you need to deck build, then every couple months or year or so an expansion comes out that adds new cards, but there are no booster packs, one expansion gets you all the cards you need to have all the options available when deck building, and the card lists are available for each expansion.

Just play Commander/EDH. Its a multiplayer singleton format that doesn't rotate out. Yes it is a massive card pool but this is a game with 25 years worth of printed cards. I myself transitioned from Standard to Modern about 4 years back and eventually caught the Commander bug. A Commander Pre-Con or Preconstructed deck is actually pretty worth it in terms of dollars and cents….but…Maybe its better to stay away from the cardboard crack. Play other players' decks and see if you really feel like going all in.

Vangelus, as someone who is 6'3" I totally understand how terrible it is when someone lowers their seat on a plane. I also hate it when I politely ask them to raise their seat back up because, you know, I'm in great pain, and they ignore me. I understand that flying is the best way to get to places, but sometimes I really hate it.

So, Nemesis Prime:
– Head is a cross between Prime and a Deception symbol
– Arm guns are based on the Armada Prime arm guns
– Red sword is based on the Armada Star Sabre
– Other sword transforms into a bird. This one is less solid, but I THINK it's supposed to look like Prime Prime's arm sword that becomes his RiD minicon
Opticron Primal
To give my own MtG experience:
I only recently got into the game myself. The group I fell into in college played Magic all the time. Still do. We meet up every Saturday to play. I thought the same sort of things that you did, Vangelus. I wanted to get into it cause it seemed really interesting and all the varied deck designs and strategies stood out to me. Buuut I was held back by the thought of deck-building, pack-buying, etc. In the end though, all I did was on my first Saturday Night Magic invite, I went to the nearby comic shop, looked at the starter decks they had, picked the one with a card that looked and sounded cool and have literally been building off of it since then. I used said deck to help get me into the groove of playing the game with my friends and from there started looking at the card effects more carefully and thinking of things to add and remove. In my case, some of my friends were even willing to offer recommendations and cards themselves. Thanks to that and personal single purchases, the current deck I have is fairly strong and functions nothing like it did when it was still a starter deck. Now I\'m considering a second deck since I\'ve gotten more familiar with certain terms and card types.
The best way, I think, to get into this if you\'re interested is to literally just dive in head-first and just try it without letting the concerns and more time-consuming aspects of the hobby hold you back. Buying singles isn\'t as big a money sink as most may think, since if you use sites like TCGPlayer, you can get a good stack of cards for $20 or less (Even lower if condition doesn\'t matter).
If anything, when it comes to deck-building, a friend linked me to this post about it. It helped her streamline her way of doing things and helps break some misconceptions (Like powerful cards are expensive literally and in game terms): [[Official]] How to Build Better Decks – Deck Creation (Standard) – Standard (Type 2) – The Game – MTG Salvation Forums – MTG Salvation
