We had reported a mysterious prototype for a possible figure of an Age Of Extinction / The Last Knight Optimus Prime by the end of 2017. We didn’t even know if it was transformable or which company was making it. Finally, it was revealed to be another project of 3P company Black Mamba.
Thanks to BB7 TOYS Newsstand, we have images of the prototype of this fully transformable Age Of Extinction / The Last Knight Optimus Prime. A new alternative to this character, following Alien Attack El Cid and Unique Toys Challenger. This new mold looks robust and with smaller shoulder pads compared to the CGI, but it shows a very nice sculpt. The alt mode looks well, but once again you can think that the proportions are wider than we should expect. Anyway, this is a first prototype that may improve a lot of parts and proportions in the final product.
At this moment, there’s no price or release date confirmed yet. You can click on the bar to see the images attached to this news post, and let us know what you think of this new incarnation of AOE/TLK Optimus Prime at the 2005 Boards!

It just feel completely different, it do look familiar when i put them together side by side
But after stare at them for a while, i see what going on here. This BMM one have a thick layer in the hood, toyworld have thinned this to none. And some sculpts seem smaller. TW one also look longer at width. The front wheel of BMM feel bigger

It's the same truck in most places. TW has just changed a bit of bot details and accessories. Maybe because you were familiar with TW's coloured prototype.
Lightningsonic
Shame. And i didn't realize they are the same. I guess they change the design a bit. Doesn't realize this truck at all
Hobo Prime
The mood was purchased by Toyworld and they are releasing it as Knight Orion

Only find out this now. And, the truck mode look so cool.
not accurate to the real truck in movie. But it look so bulked and give of a combat vehicle feel. Love it. doesn't like the truck in movie anyway.
It is black mamba, so do that mean it won't higher price than the black apple prime ?
The ARISEN PRIME
Is it masterpiece scale

Most of those images are from weird angles or stretched, but the couple that are more straight-on get your point across. Still UT is much much closer to how they should look and definitely more what my personal taste is. The flat pads make him look like a football player who forgot his pads. I can see that they become part of the truck hood which probably wasn't the best design decision, especially since it adds several hinges and panel lines to the truck mode.
Bangman009
Yes, the shoulder pads are thinner than people claim
jru42287
Yeah, no. Those forearms are still ridiculously large. And that truck mode is a disaster.

New images from the toy world thread!

I mean his proportions are better, his legs and feet are shaped more accurate to the movie, and his bicep armor is the most accurate.
UT's shoulder pads are definitely the more accurate shape wise, but UT's seem slightly too blade-like, not as tapered. Thickness wise it looks like the real shoulders fall in between them. Mamba's shoulders still bother me a little, but not as much as the arms and legs of UT.View attachment 28033550View attachment 28033551View attachment 28033554

UT Challenger's shoulder pads are pretty spot on actually. This one looks like he forgot a part of his costume before the convention. They look like pieces of fabric that were added at the last minute, which is a shame because most of the rest of his body looks great, as you pointed out. Lack of decent shoulder pads might be more towards your personal preference, which is cool, but UTs are definitely the most accurate so far.
Digger
What do you mean accurate?

Movie the best (MB?) are just repaints aren't they? SS is all original. I admit the upgraded ss ko blackout might get me, even though I have the ss, but I don't expect to love every figure that much. Avoiding getting every upgrade of the upcoming mpm starscream will be a challenge though.
They are a little bigger, but besides them (and maybe the shoulders) he's the most accurate overall. Best legs and feet by far, best proportions, and the only acurate biceps. His shoulder plates are a little thin but challenger's are a little too thick so…
With the shoulder pads stretched out smooth like that I don't mind them at all!

I want to see 2007 movie 01 Megatron; he's never gotten a respectable figure and needs some justice. I'd settle for a studio series. While on the subject, ROTF Megatron could use a triple changer. (2.5 changer?) His tank needs retractable wings.

And from the new Toyworld TLK Prime thread:
bacems
Welp, with this being cleared up, i guess my hope of getting affordable, good looking TLK optimus prime is gone, as TW will definitely put a 3p level price on it.
Shmoptimus Prime
I think this thread should be closed or merged, seeing as this isn't being made by BMB anymore and there's a whole other thread for it.
Transmetal
Damn does that looks good so far!
