We had previously reported that Takara Tomy was going to reissue their Lost Age LA-01 Optimus Prime Battle Command. Originally released in 2014, this 4-step figure features a trailer that can convert into a jetpack attachment while in robot mode, as well as a battle station of sorts for other 1-step figures.
Finally, via Amazon Japan, the Battle Command Optimus Prime toy is now re-released as part of Takara Tomy’s Turbo Change series (1-step figures). The shield is an all new mold, and the sword is mostly reused from the Armor Knight Optimus Prime toy, and some extra new additional deco changes. It also retains the lights and sound-gimmick of the original mold, but according to the description on the Amazon link, it has got new newly recorded sounds from the Japanese dubbing cast. We may listen to new voices by Japanese voice actor Tesshō Genda who voiced Optimus Prime in Dark Of The Moon and Age Of Extinction.
Since this figure is supposed to interact with other 1-step figures, Takara Tomy will reissue 4 additional One-Step/Turbo Changers: TC-05 Bumblebee, TC-06 Optimus Prime, TC-07 Megatron, and TC-08 Grimlock.
TC-09 Battle Command Optimus Prime is scheduled for release on April 21, 2018 for ¥ 6,264 ($58.56 approximately).

Return of Prime with that crappy excuse for a trailer.

When you collect movie figures like I do, and want the most screen-accurate painted versions, you gotta compare all releases, both Hasbro and Takara to the final film depictions.
Lots of research and youtube 1080p movie scene click-pause-click-pause viewings were done to figure it all out.
It gets to the point where some figures from either company are both right in certain regards to screen-accuracy and it becomes a choice of pick one…or both.
Here's 3 examples:
AOE Crosshairs:
The Hasbro Platinum version has the most accurate vehicle mode because the Corvette's graphics are on BOTH sides of the car unlike all the other releases(mass retail Hasbro and Takara version) in which they are only on one side of the car.
The robot mode is most screen-accurate on the Hasbro Platinum release. Sure, compared to takara (seen below) Has-Plat lacks the black on the upper torso, the silver painted lights at the shoulders, and has silver goggles instead of Takara's black goggles, but it gets everything else colored right, especially the feet, hips, abdomen and forearms when you compare it to the film's final cgi model.

ROTF Ravage:
This one is tricky. Ravage's cgi model is so dark grey that it's hard to discern what is colored what.
Overall I think the single-carded Hunt for the Decepticons Legends Ravage is the best since he's all the same overall color, has goldish circles on the hip joints and has the metallic orange eye. Plus, he looks great with any movie Soundwave. Then it becomes a toss up between the deluxes, but I prefer the HFTD "Rampage at the Ruins" deluxe Ravage because he is overall the same colors and has a translucent orange light-piped eye. The deluxe HFTD Sea Attack Ravage has the gold circles on the hips, but his translucent eye is red and all that black and blue just looks wrong.

ROTF Rampage:
Another either Hasbro or Takara…but Hasbro more so. The single carded Hasbro red rampage is just all wrong. It's basically a red version of yellow rampage. The HFTD "Rampage at the Ruins" deluxe is where it's at. He's got a screen accurate colored vehicle mode. The Takara one is close but it made the sides of the dozed arms red whereas they're grey on the HFTD Hasbro Rampage and on the film vehicle. The thing the Takara one has going for it in vehicle mode is the painted lines on the dozer which HFTD Hasbro lacks. As for robot mode, it seems like the HFTD Hasbro rampage is better but Takara is still good too. Like in the movie, it has a red head with silver "wear" marks on the red (Takara has a red head with the same silver paint mask as on previous rampage figures), translucent yellow eyes (Takara's are translucent orange), grey & red torso pistons (Takara are all red), and more detailed pogo-legs (Takara uses the same paint mask as on previous rampage figures). But it can be argued that the silver/red heads, yellow vs orange eyes, and pogo legs aren't much of a difference so….Then Takara gets those circle bits colored correctly at the bottom of the pistons by coloring them grey(Hasbro's are red), and they have red robot arms(Hasbro's are grey) but when it comes to the cgi Rampage model, his arms are both red and grey so either figure works. In instances like this, where differences are minor, it's up to you what you prefer. I personally prefer the HFTD deluxe ruins Rampage.

Oh i remember this, this is the thing with the light up nipples right?

I collect rescue bots. A figure doesn't have to be advanced to collect and enjoy them.

Black Convoy.
Didn't I mention that this release has some deco changes and new lower arm & feet parts?
Reflector Prime
You're doing God's work, my son. Thank you.

I didnt know anybody actually collected those. Unless you mean chug renditions of the characters? That I would be down for.
ACMagnus
I'd be down for decently colored Rescue Bots.

The feet are NOT remolded, just unpainted.
Here's the differences between the two figures:
2018 version:
-2 4-barrled guns
-2 long black guns
-new screen-accurate sword part (replaces inaccurate sword)
-new screen-accurate shield part (replaces 2 sword-rifles)
-new "post-knight" forearms (replaces "pre-knight" forearms)
-no blue paint on feet
-no red flames on shoulders
-no red flames on ankles
-has ?maybe? a silver paint app on the top of the truck's sleeper?
-no red checkered paint pattern running along bottom sides of trailer.
-no blue line of paint running along top sides of trailer.
-has thick blue center paint line design running along sides of trailer.
-has Autobot symbol on side of trailer outlined in blue via ^thick blue paint line^.
2014 version:
-2 4-barrled guns
-2 long black guns
-inaccurate concept design sword part
-2 sword-rifles
-"pre-knight" forearms
-has blue paint on feet
-has red flames on shoulders
-has red flames on ankles
-no silver paint app on the top of the truck's sleeper
-has red checkered paint pattern running along bottom sides of trailer.
-has blue line of paint running along top sides of trailer.
-no thick blue center paint line design running sides of trailer.
-has Autobot symbol on side of trailer outlined in dark grey.
FINAL VERDICT:
Other than the blue paint on the feet(which should be red), the 2014 figure and it's trailer is painted to be screen-accurate BUT it has concept weapons, whereas the 2018 figure and it's trailer is NOT painted accurately to the film BUT now it does have film accurate weapons. Both forearms are accurate to the Age of Extinction(and Last Knight) film.
So basically if you want a screen-accurate Optimus, You'd have to buy both figures and trade weapons between them.

The words \"Takara\" and \"4 step\" shouldnt be in the same sentence, let alone in a production run. Next thing you know, they will issue rescue bots in premium metallic decos. F**k fools…

Hard pass, gonna go with Alien Attack or Unique Toys!
Autoboty
So Takara drops the G1-accurate repaint line aimed for collectors for cost reasons and decks this… unarticulated abomination in a premium paint job?
Makes effing sense, Takara.
(crying over the lack of Unite Warriors Dinobots)
EDIT: I see that they even saw fit to give him a 100% newly tooled shield in addition to the paint job?! If they had used that budget to repaint and retool POTP Rodimus, maybe I would actually have bought that mold.
Black Convoy
This is in fact a 4-step chamger.

Doesn\'t look too bad for a 1 step changer

Looks like a real fun toy.
