Still amazed with the new Studio Series line? Well, after the figures we saw at Toyfair and Hasbro’s official images, thanks to Weibo user Notrab we have a nice hi-res in-hand gallery of some of the new figures of the line.
The figures are shown in dynamic poses, several angles, using their inner dioramas, group shots, etc. They reveal all the great details and design on these great toys.
- Leader Class Blackout. It took some years to finally get a new mold for Blackout, but it was worth every minute. We are sure fans will be more than satisfied to add Blackout to their collections. He also includes his little partner Scorponok.
- Voyager Optimus Prime. This new mold looks promising on these pictures. We also see the alt mode from different angles, revealing that you can storage the blades on the back of the truck.
- Voyager Starscream. Another sweet mold. He shares a lot of engineering with DOTM Deluxe Starscream, but with improvements thanks to the bigger size.
- Deluxe Autobots Bumblebee, Jazz and Ratchet. A group shot of the heroes. Despite being all Deluxes, we can see that they are not the same size. Scale is important in the Studio Series.
- Deluxe Decepticons Crowbar, Stinger and Lockdown. The bad guys really look great together. We also have a great group shot of all Deluxe Autobots and Decepticons in car mode.
- Final Group shot including Leader Class Grimlock. All figures together showing how they look on scale according to what we saw on the films.
We hope we could get some more images of Grimlock and Brawl (the only one missing) any time soon. You can check out the mirrored images on this news post after the break (As an extra bonus, there are 2 shots of POTP Abominus) and then sound off at the 2005 Boards.

You're probably right, it's just surprising how it happens like clockwork now. Singapore first, then taiwan and some other parts of southeast asia, then sometimes the UK first, then the US. Then Japan several months later for no reason even though they're in asia.

Me too. These will hit Malaysian shelves in a months time. Just in time when I get my bonus.

Studio Series is really taking off and it's awesome.

Wish I was there.

That was fast. SS32 new Op, SS Barricade and Sideswipe are bought on sight.

Best I can tell, it's always been this way. Products made in China and Taiwan generally show up in Asia and Australia weeks before they make it stateside. I think we're just more conscious of it now because more fans in that part of the world are sharing their purchases online.

Fuck I’m so jealous. I wish they’d release things all at once like they used to.

Spotted at a 新光三越 (Mitsukoshi) shopping centre toy store here in Taiwan:

SMH, Movie 1 Megatron was an awesome design. he looked very bad ass, sign me up for any MPM or SS figure for that design.

Well it is pretty terrible, IMO. Only bot design from the original movie that I dislike. Proportions are bad, jet mode doesn't look like much of anything, and it's overly complex to no end. The face was the only thing that worked for me, which is good that they kept it for the next two movies.

I told you so that you would like brawl. NIce pics.

I WISH!!!
I've never heard that before at all. I hope that's not true.

I swear I read somewhere that Hasbro hates the 07 movie design and that they wouldn’t used it again BUT I’m not sure.
SPLIT LIP
I'd be surprised if we never got him, but no word as of yet.

No news about that yet. As someone who wants a complete 07 movie cast I would like that, but as someone who finds it to be one of my least favorite Megatron designs I can wait a while for it.

There's no news stating as such, but Studio Series is supposed to be a continuous toyline ala Generations, so there's always room for him in future waves.

Is there any chance we get an '07 movie version of Megatron in the Studio Series?
I haven't been able to follow the news too closely lately.

AMAZING!!! I just wonder if maybe you got a dud figure and maybe the majority of them aren't that bad.

I find it amazing how the figures I look forward to the most are the ones that are meh/disappointing while I end up loving the ones that I didn't think I would. It was the case with Blackout and Grimlock and it's again the case with Megatron and Brawl. From every regard, Megatron looked amazing. In hand, the transformation is simple, the panels prone to popping off, the tabs loose and the vehicle mode impossible to align. Not to mention, the robot torso has a huge gap in the side and moving his side guns in tank mode cause the pegs to become undone… urgh. Brawl, on the other hand, is fantastic. Solid in both modes, the transformation is complex and uses some really ingenious tricks to get things done. For instance, the tank turret completely disappears into his arms and back. Despite having a ton of panels, they all have a place to peg in. Lastly, the reworked proportions really do give the albeit short-lived character justice.
So, Brawl is a definite recommend. Only pick up Megatron if you want a good representation of the character for display only.
