Via Previews World we have access to the IDW Free Comic Book Day 2018 – Unicron #0 Preview.
The chaos bringer has finally come into the Hasbro Comic Universe. Seen first at the end of the First Strike event, Unicron is over Rom’s homeworld: Elonia. Could the support of Optimus Prime and his Autobot team be enough to stop Unicron? This preview contains a big spoiler concerning the fate of a certain Transformer.
FCBD 2018 TRANSFORMERS UNICRON #0
(W) John Barber (A) Alex Milne (CA) Sara Pitre-Durocher
Not a whimper, nor a bang-the end comes with a squall of entropy shrieking from the ravenous maw of death itself. The message is clear: Unicron has arrived. The Transformers lock into a desperate bid to save Rom’s homeworld from the world-killer – but why has Unicron chosen this world on his path to Cybertron… and Earth? The biggest story in the history of Transformers starts now: for Unicron’s arrival can mean nothing less than the end of a universe.

You can download the preview in pdf format here, or you can read the mirrored images on this news post after the jump. But be careful since, as we said before, there is a big spoiler here.

Unicron should just wreck the universe and devour it all. Buh bye Micronauts, ROM, and Visionaries. All failed property resurrections.
Not all endings need to be happy.
GoLion
I always thought Rom would look more like a ferengi.

I'm hoping at least some of what Gateway's experiencing is Sunder messing with his memories … :-S
Anyway. Here's hoping IDW does continue forward after this – sure, that's VERY impressive Milne art, but I generally like the depth and direction that Transformers has taken in this 'verse (and hope that Unicron gets taken down … somehow).
(Could I do without quite so many character deaths? Sure. But tying the Microverse to Transformers via Micronus Prime is just inspired writing, IMHO. Likewise with the Solstar Order's armors. Shockwave should be one of the smartest minds in the room, and Regenesis has generally been a gift that keeps on giving. Plus, while they are only Prime Masters, we're at least getting some figures of The Thirteen – I'd never dared hope to see that, EVER, and I attribute it to the success IDW's had with this franchise.
Nemesis Otaku
Bee did die in I believe issue 11 of Dark Cybertron. He received a blast through the spark, courtesy of Shockwave. I'm pretty sure an upcoming issue from Optimus Prime will show Bee returning.
Possible spoilers to anyone who hasn't caught up but:
The Protectobots, Mirage, Ambulon, the DJD, Ravage, Skids, Necrobot, Shock and Ore, Pipes, and Atomizer would like to speak with you. And that was just from the Lost Light.
(Not trying to come off as an ass, just thought I'd mention it. Although now that I think about it, you did say it was a sarcastic rant…)
DrOblivian
Unicron Trilogy Starscream is such a mixed bag of amazing and terrible. this being a perfect example of both at the same time.

"Yeah Primus, moon that loser!"
Man this brings back memories. You think Rodimus is cool in LL for yelling at god? Starscream tried to fight Primus!
Optimus Goat
If Unicron is finally here after being teased all the way back in Robots in Disguise #10 (see: destruction of LV-117)…and the matrix is reduced to nothing more than half of a shiny glass ball….
…The Big-U can only really be stopped by the return of Primus as an ass-kicking force of vengeance, right? He really needs a mainstream G1 appearance at least once in His career, surely, after all those many thousands of references by his followers?
Unicron vs Primus for the fate of the IDW-verse. I'd buy six issues of that throw-down, moons used as wrecking balls, etc!

Wasn't that confirmed in First Strike because the Talisman was poisoning Cybertron. Maybe Onyx Prime arrived to park his giant eye/spaceship on New Prysmos to stop Unicron from coming…
Danforth
Milne art = lovely as usual. I am kinda hoping James Raiz gets some work on the Unicron book. He has a knack for depicting scale with line weight… Maybe some covers?
I'm not sure how I feel about the book itself – there's not enough here to go on. Unicron is concerning and Prime & co. are concerned.
Maybe Cybertron summoned Unicron to cut out the cancer that is the Visionaries' new home. Destroys the expanded universe and lets the TFs get on with their lives, cue Phase Three

Looks like Soundwave has shaken his trepidation about Prime too. That is two spoilers. Looks like Pyra is just a bunch of hot air. I thought she would have made a move by now. Oh well.
Milne, look forward to more!
Strife
Glad Bumblebee is back. Killing off comic book characters is lazy and stupid writing nowdays… especially since with him floating around being Starscream's conscience the entire time.
It's kind of like how Marvel killed Wolverine, then introduced Old Man Logan about 5 minutes later who everyone treats like Wolverine, and who acts exactly like Wolverine. But evidently, isn't Wolverine.

I noticed that too. Very nice how he wasn't saying much, but is present in the background. So that gives us wartime leaders of both factions as Megs is in his alternate universe?
Please, please don't let Autobot Megatron's universe be the reboot.
cirrusstratus1
Nice preview. But what a cocktease!! And just when I was being sucked in. Any and all puns intended.
Scrapmaker
Not exactly. Hasbro has owned Rom ever since they bought Tonka, but he was licensed out to Marvel by Parker Brothers back in the 80s. He wasn't originally a Marvel character, and they never renewed the license or tried to acquire him. As for why Hasbro brought him back? Well they had just been sitting on the rights for years, might as well do something with him.
Shepard Prime
Honestly, it'd be a huge swerve if Unicron somehow *didn't* get blown up/destroyed. It'd be the most unexpected outcome available since that never happens. Bonus points if he ended up being habitable by anyone who follows him.
SonicGX98
Most likely, yes.

Great artwork.
Will the full version be available digitally on IDW's website?
Targetmaster Kup
It's the end if the world as we know it and I feel fine.
BB Shockwave
I agree, he should have done like Spike and said "Holy shit!"
(also, neat, I just noticed this place has no stupid 'turn-swear-words into other words' filter like the Allspark, yay)
Given what they did with Megatron, suddenly forgetting and forgiving the billions he killed in a galaxy spanning conquest and civil war… would not be surprised.
Heck, still find it strange that NONE of the organic races went after the Lost Light after they learned Megatron was captain. Remember the TNG episode where Q lost his powers, and suddenly every race he ever messed with was out to destroy him? Or heck, Silver Surfer cartoon where the reaces whose planets Galactus destroyed quite understandably built a fleet to hunt him down and take their revenge?
