It's not the abandoning it, it's the lack of new material for it or studio series. When all of them are done, and none new come, then that would be it. Whereas if the movies keep going for now, then more will come in this aesthetic as more new characters are made.
G1 has a massive library to draw from. BW is going so slow it's a non-concern. Movie series is releasing pretty fast though, and it's a limited cast if the movies stopped. Though I do have to admit the thought of MPM devastator limbs is intriguing though not likely to sell at the volume needed to warrant getting made.

Why are people so worried that a reboot/whateverishappeningatthispoint will cause them to abandon the MPM line?
G1 and BW have been done for years, but those keep coming.

Haven't bought any TF's in a while. Was waiting to see the Studio Series and I'm somewhat disappointed. Now to track down MPM Prime and Bee. Ironhide is gorgeous.

Looking at the masterpiece, and it really feels like they should continue on the movies. It feels like such a waste to toss away how amazing these designs are. That Ironhide is so much perfection. Really hoping by "Reboot" they mean more in terms of how the story is handled and tone. Oh well, what may come may come.
