Via website Screen Rant, we have our first look at the Transformers Mighty Muggs figures.
Hasbro is relaunching Mighty Muggs, and of course we expected a new Transformers Mighty Muggs series. These figures obviously don’t transform, but they sure have got an interesting “transforming” gimmick. You can read about it on the official description below:
“Get ready to turn heads with TRANSFORMERS MIGHTY MUGGS Figures. Call it a moodswing, or call it a moodSPIN, these TRANSFORMERS MIGHTY MUGGS figures feature a push-and-turn mechanism that lets fans change the figure’s facial expression by pushing down on the head. With 3 different expressions and classic character designs, these figures will have fans doing a triple take. Characters include BUMBLEBEE, OPTIMUS PRIME, MEGATRON and more”.
You should notice that the design for these little guys is based on the new Cyberverse series. Each figure will be sold for only $9.99 and they will be available on Spring 2018. You can check out all the images after the break. Are you interested in getting these new Mighty Muggs? Let us know what you think at the 2005 Boards!
Starscream 91
I actually picked up the Rey not to long ago, I never got any of the Mighty Muggs when they first came out I only have Prowl cause at Botcon 2011 I think someone was selling him and for some reason I bought it. Quite honestly I don't see myself buying to many I bought the Rey because she is my favorite character to come from Star Wars, I'll probably go back and pick up Kylo too since I'm doing a whole Kylo & Rey shelf. Haven't seen any of the Marvel ones so I have no idea if I'd get any of those, I have a feeling they'd make a Deadpool so thats a must

As you can see these new ones are a lot smaller but I like these a lot more.
But onto these Transformers ones, I saw these on my phone on the way to St Louis and I really dig the Transformer ones at least. I'll at least get Starscream because his expressions are hilarious and he is my favorite Transformer. Might get Prime & Megs too but Bumblebee is a skip, hope to see more of these as I'd love for a Windblade.
Optimus117
The helmets aren't removable. They're spring-loaded. You push down and the head spins to the next face. You're right about it looking terrible on some of the Star Wars and Marvel ones, though. It only works well for some of them. Deadpool, Spidey, and Black Panther look fantastic.
Slightly larger than a standard Funko Pop, with a more "premium" finish to the plastic/paint. I've seen them in stores (Marvel and Star Wars). Some of them are actually pretty cool. I'm limiting myself to Deadpool and Optimus.

I passed on the original Mighty Muggs. After seeing Funko Pops where more or less each character has a unique head mold, I kept thinking that's what Mighty Muggs should've done. It was infinitely cheaper to just print designs on the same body across the entire line but that's what made something like the Prime Mugg unappealing.
These news ones rectify that with actual head molds for everyone. It's probably why the first wave is so small, but I hope it works out for them. A huge improvement on the original attempt.

I like these. I saw the marvel and star ars in Walmart. They are very cute
Dinobot Nuva
Echo the Quint and Blitzwing ideas. Pass on these for me. I started thinking my collection this year and am still looking to sell off what's left of my MISB Universe Mighty Muggs from a few years ago.
UltraPrimal
You had one job, Hasbro. YOU HAD ONE JOB! You do a cute Mighty Muggs Starscream with 3 faces and none of them are his iconic smirk? NONE OF THEM?! Instead, who has the smirk? Bumblebee. Fuck. What is wrong with you, Hasbro? Do we need to have a talk? Because you don't seem to know what the hell you're doing here.
Mizzinno
They should be an Alpha Q and Blitzwing.
Fast_Draw
They look smaller than the original ones to me. If so, smaller and they cost the same as original ones (because of the face gimmick?).
I have all of the original ones, but I won't be getting these.
Celaeno
I like these better than the original ones-they're a lot cuter, and the expressions give some options. Look like they'd be fun as a bit of cube decoration. I'm curious to see what other characters they'd do, if we get a second wave.
Smokescreen
While I would rather them do G1 Funko Pops, these guys look like a pretty neat alternative. Better than the old Mighty Muggs at least.
WereDragon EX
Fair enough. Still good on you and best of luck with your relationship.

Cheers. Obviously not in this thread though. Not really on topic?
"SO"?
WereDragon EX
Not at all, I think we're happy to hear about how nice your SO is to you.
primalxconvoy
She's great. She often buys me TFs. I could go on about how she's amazing, but I'm sure it would bore you all.
WereDragon EX
You are lucky to have such a girlfriend then. She must be a keeper!

Optimus looks constipated on his faces without the mouthplate…

I don't really remember anyone clamoring for G1 Optimus merchandise sans mouth plate, but I guess they had to make him fit the gimmick somehow.
These aren't high up on my list, but I'd probably eventually pick up Optimus and Megatron.
primalxconvoy
I can't say that I want to buy these myself, but it's something my girlfriend would buy for me. If anything, the official pics make good animated gifs, to be used as chat stickers or discussion board avatars…

These are…eh. Just license to Funko, Hasbro!

Not falling for these again. I have a whole run (sans an SDCC Optimus) packed away somewhere. While they aren't terrible looking in package, I just don't need more random stuff.
