Mudslide
Well, duh. I am a Transformers fan, after all.
Megastar
Very low ones, yes.
maltesefalcon
lost light, lost light, next to die
Mudslide
Better get rid of Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus and Arcee too.
maltesefalcon
I wonder if they are getting rid of kup due to the unicron story and not wanting to rehash the movie
Bass X0
The presence of a memorial page suggests otherwise.
NanakoPreame
Better then Defensor because at least everything that happens in a crossover will be reversed by the end.
Hyoumaru
Remember, Kup died for this series nobody wanted.
Bass X0
because the writer doesn't care two craps about the original show or people who remember watching it originally.
This is a cash-in on an 80s property that rejects all nostalgia that people may have towards that 80s property. Dreamwave was accused of being too close to the original Transformers cartoon, but here IDW is too far removed from the original Visionaries cartoon. And out of those two extremes, I'll go with Dreamwave's approach.
So I've only ever watched one episode of Inhumanoids. I don't know anything about it but if if IDW were to make a Transformers vs. Inhumanoids comic, I'd want the Inhumanoids to stay the same as they originally were, only with deeper and better characterisation and storylines. Modernising something doesn't mean that an original decades old property has to be completely trashed.
Mudslide
At least some of us have standards.
Megastar
Haters gotta hate.
maltesefalcon
finally a heroic leader in idw vthat seems not to be a jerk.
speaking of which why make merklynn an out and out villain in this? he was lawful neutral in the show.
BB Shockwave
Ugh, the character designs are soooo ugly. Why does everyone look like someone scribbled on their faces with a crayon while they slept? And Galadria is a schoolgirl with a headband? And the holograms which were the most recognizable things about these characters, are now small and sometimes on their backs?
Also, what is up with the weird expressions on Leoric\'s face? On page 4 bottom right, it looks like he is trying hard not to smile, and then on page 5 he is giving us an evil smirk? Are they trying to imply now he is the badguy… after Virulina (who looks like that punk sister of Zartan now for some reason) murdered Kup?
Also, Ectar has a fox's tail around his neck? Guess now we know why he has not turned to his totem animal yet?
Deadend
Well if what I suggested is true, that might explain why they aren't. As for other areas of their magic, that's probably going to come up still. This is only a few pages of issue 2 and issue 1 was all setup and setting the stakes.
Though Leoric's redesign might also have to do with the fact that it was very 80s Tom Selleck.
hardlurk
Oh, so Virulina turns into a shark then? How's that gonna work? Does Cybertron even have oceans? Or is it some sort of flying shark? That's absurd. Next you'll be telling me it writes poetry.
MGX
…IF they even still turn into animals. (That's right…concept art of IDW Leoric's lion form is out there)
STAR Comics had a plot like that where Leoric worried about the totems taking over their humanity. In a later issue, we see Cryotek starting to lose control while in bear form.
Surprisingly, no one has used an ability yet, even in the previews. Sell us on the Visionaries. Have them transform into their totems or use their magic staves. Even some of the passive abilities like Arzon's Knowledge or Leoric's Wisdom could be used for these talking scenes, yet aren't used. That's like a Transformer who isn't transforming or using some sort of special power or gadget.
redwolfbear
gijoe and E.D.C. BE A POOR MANS SUBSTITUTE FOR S.H.I.E.LD. now those dogs got their act down cold
Heliblade
Well at least the Visionaries that are supposed to be the heroes actually seem heroic, unlike most other humanoid teams like G.I. Joe and such.
redwolfbear
