Several episodes of Machinima’s Titans Return since we last shared an interview with the legendary voice of Optimus Prime, today we learn more about why Peter Cullen enjoys Transformers voice acting and working on the webseries in particular:
“These creative minds, these vocal geniuses playing multiple characters, inventing them, there’s no greater thrill to be sitting and recording with people who are that capable. You’re just in awe; it’s jaw-dropping,” Cullen said. “I have great appreciation for them; and it’s great to get someone like Judd Nelson back. What a great, talented person and a special kind of human being. His approach to acting is a great, great asset to the franchise.”

Can necro bumping news threads start getting you a week ban or something? It's getting annoying.

I grew up with Armada and Animated, so I’m partial to Gary Chalk and David Kaye, but I love Peter Cullen, and I’m envious of the generation that grew up with G1, no matter how flawed it might be.

TFW's excerpt from this interview as posted on the front page is taken out of context and seems to misrepresent what Peter Cullen is saying.
TFW's wording leads us to believe Peter is talking about the new cast from the web series, but the original interview, which focuses on Peter's past and is titled "As 'Transformers' Gets Its Original Look Back, Star Peter Cullen Gets Nostalgic For the Old Days" seems to indicate Peter is talking about the Generation One cast as he segues to the return of Judd Nelson.
Here is all relevant text from the interview, as originally written:

Note that the Robot Chicken sketch in question was also pre-2007, meaning Cullen hadn't been active in the role for almost a good 20 years at that point. Said sketch also had Optimus dying from prostate cancer, not just merely being diagnosed with it. Comedic or not, it can be easy to see why it can be seen as bad taste.
The Letterman appearance is much more of a downplay in comparison. Inoffensive and just generally having a good laugh with people all around.

Some unwritten law about guarding Canadians?
black prime
Maybe convoy84 is also Canadian?
[Wing_Saber-X]
Well, Canadian or not, he's still a living treasure to all older G1 fans and beyond.
Bloodstriker
Well, that was my point! ;D
[Wing_Saber-X]
Yes…but what point are you trying to proof here?!
autobotlongarm
And Mario from Donkey Kong if I'm correct.
Bloodstriker
Isn't he Canadian?
Shepard Prime
Wait, what? *googles* No $#!t? Wow, I did not know that. That's awesome.
My kids got into Transformers first so of course when they got into Voltron my daughter wanted to know why Optimus Prime was doing the intro to the show. I told her they're in the same universe. lol.

After looking at my original post, I admit that I sounded pretty dickish and disrespectful. I deeply apologize. I just was wondering whether Peter Cullen has found himself in an "Alex Guinness" situation (towards the end of his life, Mr. Guinness became increasingly more annoyed and irritated that the only prominent role that he was remembered for was playing Obi-Wan Kenobi, despite being talented enough playing numerous other roles). I love Peter Cullen's work and I was wondering if he loved playing those as well or was it just for the money. I was not trying to put down Peter Cullen's work despite what my ham-fisted comment was implying. I apologize again.
Heliblade
At least Peter\'s having fun.
[Wing_Saber-X]
Omg the feels is real.
I will forever love that man for giving us wonderful childhood cartoon characters memories.

And whichever character is narrating this kickass sequence!

"The only thing missing is the cast; I don’t work with the full cast the way that we used to. I miss the days when we would have laugh attacks and production would shut down for five or six minutes due to everyone laughing so hard they couldn’t stop. Those were the days that I cherished.”
We all cherish the young days, Mr Cullen. Things were definitely simpler back then, and not just because we were kids.
And I'm glad he enjoys working with Judd Nelson.

I should remind myself to put you on my ignore list..
