Following on from the earlier Weibo post of Power of the Primes stock images, we can now report that Amazon has updated their listings for POTP Deluxe Wave 2 with larger versions of those stock images – including the alternate modes which were missing from the Weibo posting, and lacking the Weibo watermark across the middle of the image. Check out images of the five Deluxes coming our way in Wave 2 – Moonracer (who we’ve seen but is here for completeness), Dinobot Snarl, Dinobot Sludge, Blackwing, and Terrorcon Rippersnapper. Check out the head of Rippersnapper’s beast mode for a pleasant surprise – he’s got paint apps that recall the original toy’s rubsign up there.

What\'s up Transformer fans,today is April 3,2018..Proud to say I finally completed my POTP set of Dinotbots ad of April 2.Also during the past few months I\'m happy to say again that I am a proud owner of Optimus,Rodimus,Rodimus Uncronus,Star Scream,Jazz,Unggarr if I\'m spelling it right.Alos got the little dudes Beachcomber,Sea Spray,Slash,Cosmos.Brings back my childhood days man. This is an interesting fact,I\'m more a 80\'s collector of G.I.Joes but between Transformers and Star Wars they have been my 2018 modern day collection. Salute to all you owners.

Yeah, but times and standards change. When a kid can look around the toy aisle and see toys that ARE screen accurate, they're going to come to expect that they're all screen accurate.
You may have also only had 5 channels on a small CRT TV growing up, doesn't mean kids today are going to be ok with that.

I find this whole concept of screen accurate toys amusing considering the toys I had when I was growing up. The Box said it was Bumblebee and I knew bumblebee was on the cartoon and that was good enough for me.

You used MY kids so I demonstrated that SOME kids ( by using MY kids AND their friends ) DON'T want a toy that looks nothing like what they see on the screen. Many Kids would PREFER a screen accurate/resemblance toy to a toy that looks NOTHING like what they are used to seeing on screen.

Hasbro seems to want to straddle the line between collectors and kids with the Prime trilogy line, which is fine, no problem, I think its great and probably the best way to go with things PERSONALLY. But when there is little to NO media tie in for the toys I am left scratching my head on what market they are exactly aiming for.
I am not going to comment any more on this. We are just going to have to agree to disagree on this. Not going to hijack this thread arguing about it.

Well, I was originally just replying to the guy complaining about the Dinobots saying voyager sized should be the baseline minimum.
I get that your point is basically "There's no media! Who are these for?? My kids don't know who Grimlock is unless he's green! So no other kids will, or want them", I just disagree.

Are you really trying to argue that kids don't want transforming robotic space dinosaurs? No matter what they look like? Ok, different designs… Uh, so what? The movie Dinobots don't look like the Rid Dinobots and neither of them look like any of the others. These DO look like the G1, animated, comic book, and numerous video game Dinobots, and for many that'll be enough (again, aside from the fact they're DINOBOTS is enough alone).
Are you really trying to imply that no kids will want these? Or that the only people buying them are 35 ~ 50 year old G1 fans? Because not only is that laughable & naive, but these bots are flying off shelves dude. And it ain't just because of us.
This is the final toy line in the Prime Wars trilogy. Kids AND collectors are primed (I'm so sorry) and ready for whatever is coming out.

All of them. Robocop wasn't a movie for kids, but you can bet a hell of a lot of kids saw it and bought toys from the line made specifically for them. I saw the first 3 live action movies under 13 and I sure as hell wanted toys of them.
These movies are definitely not made solely for an older audience.
And yes the designs may be different, but they're still robots that turn into dinosaurs that are grey, so I think most people can make a link, even if they're like 5 or 6 years old. As someone who grew up on G1 and Cybertron cartoons, I was eager to try and make out which characters were who in the new movies in relation to the old ones, to moderate success.

Unfortunately tho, A LOT of parents took their kids to see them, that's why they kept making so much money, so many sequels, and so many toys.
All of your arguements about them not looking exactly as they do in whatever media is moot. Robot dinosaurs will never NOT be popular with kids. No matter how much collectors either try to ignore or want to believe it's not the case, we are but a drop in the bucket in terms of total sales.
My point anyways was this; the Dinobots have had sooo much exposure over so many years, over so many different forms of media(tv, comics, movies, video games, toys, & soon a web series) that they are ingrained into pop culture & children's brains. They're on t-shirts at school, on lunch boxes, back packs. I've seen at all my local stores that they are the first to fly off shelves while Jazz, Dreadwind, and everybody else linger.
The $10 Slash or the $16 Swoop / Slag is the gateway drug. Of course Grimlock the most popular is also the most expensive (but hey $25 isn't THAT bad, and kids gotta have their T-Rex). After that of course kids will want to get the rest. Hasbro knows what they're doing (sometimes, heh).
I'm not saying these weren't / aren't made for collectors in mind too, of course they were. But overall sales depend on the casual buyer & kid / parent sales demographic, and 5 voyagers is just less affordable & palatable to them. Even if they did a 5 voyager box set, they still wouldn't sell as well. It'd take up more valuable shelf space instead of easy to restock pegs, and we've all seen how trying to get Trypticon, Chaos on Velocitron, etc at retail has gone for a lot of people…

again totally different designs, kids want toys of what they see on tv or in games, they dont want what we would consider a name slap on a character that hardly resembles the toy.
they indeed will be, the voice cast has been revealed and they even got berger coming back to do grimlock. BUT its a 10 minute thing for 10 eps only on an obscure internet tv thing, yes it gets a little better exposure when they do put it on you tube. but still 10 minute eps, for 10 weeks only . thats not going to catch the attention of kids for long. Maybe for us it will but kids. Plus that show isnt entirely kid friendly.
again the movies arent for kids under 13 AT LEAST, maybe older, if your taking your kids to see the movies and they are like 8, then I think the parent needs some counseling.

Back to my original point, Who is hasbro making these toys for ? your reasoning for why they are deluxe and not all voyagers is exactly right but it makes no sense whatsover when you think about what is hasbro doing with their media tie ins.
I would not be caught dead letting my kids watch those movies before 13. Kids know a green grimlock, they know rescue bots can turn into dinosaurs, they really have no clue what these 80s designed dinobots are.
They might know the name/term dinobots but its not matching up with what they are seeing on Rescue bots or RID . and again God I hope no parent is taking their kids to see the bay movies under 13 and if the kids are older then are they really buying the toys ?

The Dinobots were in the last 2 TF movies. They've been some of the most popular TF characters since the very beginning in the 80's. They've been in multiple cartoons & video games. They're probably going to be in the Power of the Primes show that's coming out later this year. They may be in the Bumblebee movie out this year (but probably not) and they may be in TF 6 that's in the works rn. They're in Rid too, right? There's even Dinobots in Rescue Bots (sort of). Kids know who the Dinobots are. My stepson is 7 and knows, and my 3 yr old daughter knows. Neither of them watch Transformers.

What I don’t get though with your reasoning ( and I think your right ) is if this is for the kids , then where is the media tie in . No media tie in , makes it quite difficult for kids to care .
