Via TaoTaoToys On Weibo we have our first images of Takara Tomy MP-39 Masterpiece Sunstreaker Box.
The yellow Autobot comes in a black box similar to previous MP Autobot cars, with a picture of the Lamborghini Countach LP500S car mode and the impressive robot mode in the front of the box, while the back features the accessories, gimmicks and a small shot next to MP Sideswipe.
One interesting thing to notice is that the robot mode in the front of the box is posing in a way that resembles the classic G1 Box Art. We are sure fans will appreciate this homage the original toy. MP Sunstreaker is expected to be released on December 2017 or January 2018.

Lol. Let's just pretend MP Cordon is actually French..
Fafnir72
Yup! Those wizkids of TT actually sewed that in his mythos!
[Wing_Saber-X]
haha….
Fafnir72
Not to mention he's also a great cook!

Cordon is a true Masterpiece which invokes the glorious nostalgia factor of the OG Diaclone Police carbot. IMHO.

Check tfsource. I know they had one of the repaints as of last week.

Fafnir72
Amazing technology that created him is now 6 years old

IMO this is the best of the Takara Masterpiece figure, cartoon accuracy, great articulation and unlike MP 44 and MP 45, this figure is not prone to paint chipping… A very solid figure indeed.

Just created a short review of MP-39, and mentioned how to fixed the door hinge breakage. It is just so easy to break…

I got MP Sunstreaker, it's KO, Cordone and I've got MP Spinout on the way. These are the last official TT molds I've bought.

I seriously feel like this design is an example of TT at the pinnacle of their capabilities. I like pretty much everything about it. It’s magical. And sturdy…yet refined.

Ditto. Still need to pick up Spinout though.
This mold really showcases what Takata is capable of. It SHOULDN'T be possible for a toy to have the complex transformation this one does at its size AND be as well articulated as any 1/12 scale figure on the market and still look so appealing. Especially considering that, if not for the rear engine flip gimmick, they could have made the whole thing even MORE compact and cohesive.

Not really a QC issue, but be aware that it will probably make you consider buying Cordon and Spinout too! It’s a fantastic mold and all variations look amazing.

Should be getting MP Sunny in the mail with the wave 2 Kingdom leaders from RobotKingdom and Robotoybase respectively,
Any qc issues I need to look out for on Sunstreaker? Besides the windshield cracks?

Hope you enjoy it. I loved the mold so much that I bought Cordon and Spinout as well as Sunstreaker.

Finally getting this to replace Sunsurge. Just going by pics and YouTube reviews, it looks absolutely stunning.

sorry to hear about your problems with sunstreaker. You literally lived my worst fear with these masterpiece figures.
I wish I had an opinion on Hound’s transformation but by the time I received him the word had already spread about how fragile the plastic was. So putting him into robot mode terrified me so much that I didn’t get to really appreciate the engineering at all. I was to laser focused on just getting him into a robot mode without breaking him. And once I got him transformed I put on my shelf and I never wanted to touch him again.

I agree with you on Sunstreaker. I don't find his transformation intuitive. I have to use a manual or a video to transform him. And last time I transformed him from robot to car mode, I broke a door off by accident.
Need to replace him now. I don't think all the new Transformers are difficulty to transform though. Hound and Arcee for example are both very intuitive and easy to transform. Hound might not be a good purchase now due to the plastic issues, but Arcee is a must have if you ask me.
