Via Generation Toy Weibo we have new images of their upcoming Generation Toy GT-08 Guardian – G1 Defensor.
Generation Toy brings us an impressive and detailed take on the last G1 Autobot Combiner we saw in season 2 of the original cartoon. We got renders and images of both the Combiner mode and all the individual Protectobots: Hot Spot, Streetwise, Blades, Groove and First Aid in both modes. We can be sure you will enjoy these highly detailed and stylized designs for this Autobot team.
No pre-order or release info is available at this time, so stay tuned for more news on these. While you can click on the bar to see the gallery and then sound off at the 2005 Boards!

I am selling my set in case anyone is interested. Hotspot never opened so never combined. Please check my sale thread

Hotspot: It's like looking at a high school yearbook photo.
Streetwise: I dunno, I think look better in off white and you look pretty much the same First Aid.
First Aid: How should I feel about that?
Groove: How's a motorcycle make up the whole leg?
Blades: Um, Groove?

Definitely some parts they could refine like alot of the tabs on Hotspot (and maybe rework him a little to hide the combiner head on his back in robot mode.

Yeah… I never did like how shallow it was for the guns… I had always hoped someone would OS KO this set. Also make some improvements.
Nemesis Compactor
Was wondering if I could file/sandpaper the weapon slot on the combiner bands, but I think they're just too shallow.
Plus there's moulding inside them I'd have to mrss up

Save yourself the pain, go to Terry and just buy the bunch for 350. That's what I did, no regrets.

Foo Fighter was on sale at Big Bad toy store for 99 dollars so I pulled the trigger.
I am really banking on the hope the rest go on clearance. Based on some of the insane overseas sales, some American retailers may have trouble off loading him. Next week is resource customer appreciation week. Will definitely be monitoring

I applaud your sanity

I didn't buy any of them, they were more expensive than I felt they were worth to me. That picture is from Like_Toys themselves.
Aaronstampler
did you buy the like toys upgrades for the warbotron and the Defensor?

The height made sense at the time, the extreme time frame to release it all significantly hurt the choice though. When they first started Warbotron Bruticus was the largest combiner, and by the time Constructor was announced creating the Zeta size class they were already 4 combiner in (Constructor was announced a few days after TFM Menasor). With 5 of the 8 S1-S3 combiners released at the same scale that is the closest any 3P has gotten to releasing them all at the same general size. TFC is 1 figure away from their 5th, but I feel like their size has grown too much over the years to be the "same general size". All the Zeta class ones combined from every company has only tied GT/TFM/WB's completion percent with 5 of 8 represented (this is counting Cang Predaking which I know is divisive due to it's style).
Not exactly what you are asking for, but there is a very expensive Like_Toys set for the GT limbs (it came out before GT finally got Hot Spot released).
Since someone will probably ask POTP Predaking, Warbotron Computron, and UT Abominus with upgrades to increase their height.

Jinbao mentioned on Weibo last year that another combiner is coming. You can utter a quiet prayer to the KO gods that this will be it.

Making an OSKO version of this would make the individual bots and vehicles way out of scale for MP, in my opinion, and I personally didn't get him for combined mode. Though, I do understand other people who place a higher value on his gestalt form would want him given the OS treatment.
KlotziDotCom
I don't think that will happen, he's been on the market for too long and Generation Toy is busy making a new Superion under the Dream Star Toys brand

Right there with ya. Definitely would buy an OS version, without hesitation. Definitely wouldn't complain about improved wrists & hands so he can actually hold his guns, and if some designer wanted to make him some decent partsforming "pants" a la the OSKO Devy upgrade to improve his proportions a bit, I'd literally throw money at them, but honestly a straight OS version would be fine too.
