Imaginarium Art G1 Skywarp Statue Teaser Revealed

under Generation 1

Imaginarium Art on Facebook has shared their G1 Skywarp Statue teaser image.

The image shows a G1 inspired Seeker torso under the caption: “Don’t worry. We’ll make them regret undooming themselves” which is a quote from Skywarp during the episode “Countdown To Extinction”.

We hope Imaginarium Art is bringing the rest of the Seekers in the future.

I just received notice from BBTS that LOC Thundercracker and Megatron are expected in the next 10 days!

Imaginarium is making 2 different sizes of statutes. The larger sizes (Generation 1) are $1K. The smaller sizes (Legacy of Cybertron) are $399.99. It looks like this is the Legacy of Cyberton size – so, $400.

All about cool big statues and toys. A lot of toys just stand around in bot mode anyhow, and realistically, this is a collector piece so I don't mind fixed poses. My crits are possibly enough to make me not buy though.

1) What is with all the anodized metal? Looks cool but Not Seekers. I would rather see matte colors and slight wear.

2) Lack of details. Lack of paint detail. Eg. Under his arm pits, the chest profile. Just a vast plastic looking flat area. The sort of remedial paint technique in that area doesn't help either. ( notice the spotty sort of paint too thick, spatter in your airbrush, or using a rattle can look up close. Like pointillism) A few flat sort of boring parts on him. I get it. G1 is flat there, but this is supposed to be G1 up close. There would be something. Panels lines even. Like the legs got attention. A lot of areas with holidays. ( Paint isn't all the way to the edge or just over the edge with no panel lining) EG. The base of his shoulder weapons just looks like cheap silver paint. Not metal and no panel line details. They are also plugged barrels? Not cool. Even the thrusters are pretty basic. Gloss black spray can. Done. Kind of looks like it was mostly painted with rattle cans to be honest. Lotta chrome spray paint feel. Paint is probably one of the biggest issues I have with it.

3) That base. Just feels phoned in. So many things wrong with that base.

Normally I try to see the big picture and not over crit, but for 1k USD and it doesn't transform, then details and paint should be spectacular. These are not spectacularly painted or detailed pieces imo for that price.

Just saying. Seems rushed or not shown enough creative love in some way. Pass.
PS. ThunderCracker is my favorite seeker so it's always hard to pass on a TC piece to gauge where I'm coming from.

I really love the design of the statue, but this is all I thought of when I saw his alternate face

Props for having G1 old-school feathered exhausts (and not featherless like the MP), but the black chest/waist accents (instead of silver) makes him look a whole lot like Dirge.  Dirge is blue+black, TC is blue+silver, torso-wise.

Looks nice (would have liked to have seen the missiles normal size on the wings also). Glad they didn’t do the same bad looking flames like they did on starscream, this looks much better. Unfortunately still don’t have a grand for a statue.
