New contenders are always coming up to the scene of third party toys, and Unique Toys has posted prototype images on their Weibo page of their newest contender titled UT R-02 Challenger, a homage to Optimus Prime as portrayed in the Transformers Live Action Film Age of Extinction and The Last Knight. Images of the grey prototype shows of a figure that transform from the Western Star 5700EX truck mode to a fairly model accurate robot mode. The figure appears to come with Optimus’ shield and Temenos Sword that can be pegged on the back in robot mode.
Unique Toys mentioned in their post that the figure will come with a diecast part that can be put in the figure’s chest, although they did not specify what that part is modeled after. More information will be revealed in an expo in Shanghai on the 28th according them, so stay tuned for latest update on this project. Until then, check out the prototype photos after the break.

Oh that's weird. Anyways, hope you enjoy the figure.

Hold up, why'd it combine my two posts? My question about anyone selling was from several weeks ago. I saw yours and it's beautiful and has a bunch of great accessories but I didn't want to spend that much. I ended up ordering one from aliexpress and it came in this week. Yes I wish the paint was better but I'm going to stick with him anyway. Once I finish adding my own details hopefully it will look better. This figure is the reason I asked you recently about your ink washing technique.

I'm selling mine but it's heavily customized with many replacement parts and extras. You can find pics in the thread somewhere.

Yeah it's a true display of amateur design. Lol
Yeah UT was like "'wah wah, it doesn't have truck parts, it won't be able to transform!!' Boom, bitch. We did it." And from then on, the others tried their hand at it, and…they sure tried. KoK did a much better job than the others, but my only complaint is that KOK's Battle Bra can barely contain his tiddies from spilling over.View attachment 30265757
I wasn't gonna buy it anyway, because DLX spoiled me. But it's Bayverse Prime and any new and original figure will get my attention. And I'm glad it wasn't a complete disaster.
and hopefully someone does a Peterbilt Prime, that isn't a Legends Scale figure…

Not the worst. He helped paved they way for what's best to come.

El CID is the only transformer that King Orion always better than, lol.

That's the trade-off when it comes to Unique Toys. You get a really solid feeling toy with clever and smooth enginering, but the figures tend to lack better sculpt and paint. Literally the opposite of Toy World's Knight Orion, where the paint job is great but everything else is shit.
King of Kock is somewhere in between, where the sculpt and paint is actually quite decent, with a(from what I've seen) not terrible transformation.
And El Cid is just El SHIT.

By chance is anyone on here selling this guy?
Man, I gotta say, I'm kind of bummed. I've been looking forward to this guy for years but was focusing on other parts of my collection. Now it's finally time to shift to movie figs and I was SO EXCITED to get Challenger, finally! I know KoK is better in a lot of ways but I'm mostly swayed by UT's engineering and overall I'm very happy with him and glad I got him, but his paint is horrible. His red in truck mode is more pink than red, and the blue on his pecs are so faint! In theory I can fix it but it won't be easy. I've got such a weird mix of emotions. Relieved and excited to finally have him, but disappointed that I got one of the worst ones I've seen. View attachment 30265435

Damn, haven't see this in years. This was a well known issue on the first version of the figure way back in 2017 or whenever it came out, to the point where every seller was having to ship out replacement parts, but I thought ever wave since then had the issue fixed. You can try drilling a hole into the part that's left over, pulling it out and then shaving it down and glueing it if you want but you really should try to contact the seller.

I had the same break. The piece still stays on in both modes, it just falls out during transformation. When i have time I'll have to see if I can pop out the peg and glue it back together…

We need Sentinel first.

We need a ver 2.0 of this guy by UT. Their engineering prowess have gotten better since then
VVa
Can it be glued back on?

After a good 3 years of having this figure a mushroom peg broke during a random transformation, ant tips on how to fix mushroom pegs? Can't contact seller again
Kenneth Huynh
Taped it up holds together very well but ill have to take it off when transforming it

Safest things for plastic use are clear acrylics. That could mean a clear acrylic clear coat hobby paint like Tamiya X22 or an acrylic floor polish like Qwik Shine in the green labeled bottle.
Lots of people here will start talking about using "future" (meaning Pledge floor gloss, it changed its name years ago) but that's a fool's errand if you don't already have some since it's been discontinued. The green bottle Qwik Shine is the closest substitute I've found.

How about nail polish or no

Glue is almost never a good idea for improving tolerances. It chips easily and can damage the plastic over time.
