Transformers: The Last Knight topped Wonder Woman for the top spot on both of NPD VideoScan’s national home video sales charts. One chart is solely dedicated to Blu-ray Disc sales, while the other includes sales for both Blu-rays and DVDs. Third place overall went to 47 Meters Down, while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 had the third most Blu-ray sales. The Transformers 5-Movie Collection ended the week in the 14th spot in the overall chart. The results are from the week of Sept. 24 (The Last Knight hit store shelves on Sept. 26).
During that first week, 70% of the film’s sales came from Blu-rays, which was just a small step down from Wonder Woman‘s 73% during its first week.
As for home video rentals, The Last Knight debuted in the second spot behind Wonder Woman on Home Media Magazine’s rental chart. This is partly due to Wonder Woman not being available through Redbox during its first week on disc. The Last Knight, however, was released through Redbox during its first week. 47 Meters Down followed in third, while Captain Underpants and Baywatch rounded out the top five.

I truthfully don’t want them to try for five movies because honestly outside of pre determined narratives like Harry Potter or a clear Midas Touch like the MCU (which WB does NOT have) then there are diminishing creative returns past three solo instalments.
So I’ll take three solid instalments at or above the quality of WW1 to end on a high note over the fluctuating quality that ends on a downer like it did with TLK.

Actually that's called small caps. Where the lowercase letters look like smaller uppercase ones. As the website here does not support small caps, he's writing it correctly.

this is good to hear….never underestimate the importance of dvd sales
yeah yeah, wonder woman this, wonder woman that, to that i say, let's see how good wonder woman 5 is
& yes i thought tlk was drivel as well, just saying.
Chopperface
The salty tears about Wonder Woman trouncing TLK are… amusing.

Considering the superhero zeitgeist has been going as long as Transformers has, give or take, then I feel the comparison remains valid. Her overall staying power is still up in the air depending on if Justice League taints the water, so fair enough there.
But the simple facts are, Wonder Woman stole The Last Knight’s thunder at the box office overall, and especially at the domestic level. Internationally though Last Knight did better so there’s still strong interest in the foreign markets for Transformers.

Comparing a sequel in a 10 year old franchise to a new franchise isn't really fair. My point was, to see how much Wonder Woman retains it's popularity in 10 years.
AutobotAvalanche
Not… Really? Comparing two movies out at the same time is a lot more fair than comparing 2007-2017 with 2017-2027. That's no different than comparing the 40's or 50's or any two decades. Things change quickly and radically.
CKPRIME
It's as fair as comparing TLK to WW.
AutobotAvalanche
Not a fair comparison for a variety of reasons. Different demographics, inflation, shift towards home theater, series structure, studio decisions, etc.

Transformers has pulled in about 4 billion. See how Wonder Woman is doing in 10 years.
Gordon_4
$605million against $820million, with Wonder Woman pulling a full 50% of its revenue from the U.S. alone. The Last Knight didn’t even equal its decade old starting point.
Plenty of folk loved TF5, as is their right, but make no mistake who knocked who out in that fight.
Venixion
How? Wonder Woman is a good movie.
Haha! I've seen that dragonball dub @UltraAlanMagnus ! Its funny as hell!
John TheDestroyer
They have the bigger T and F, but the rest isn't lowercase. It just looks funny to me the way he writes it. If he's trying to be accurate to the actual logo, shouldnt he write it like 'TRANSFORMERS' every time he writes it?

Depends which party was knocked out and which one has the broken hand.

This seems akin to being proud that the guy who knocked you the fuck out fractured their knuckles doing so.
UltraAlanMagnus
This pretty much hints Peter Cullen & Frank Welker joining the DC Movieverse.
John TheDestroyer
This capital F always bothers and seems out of place to me in your comments. Is the Transformers title ever completely lower case except for the T and F? Where did you get it from?
I could also reply to how I think your comment is almost completely wrong, but lets not get into all that.

I'm not angry, I'm disappointed.

No, it's a sign that the Transformers movies are and always have been a superior product than they are actual films. These home video sales are powered mostly by kids I'll bet. Kids who get it, or have it given to them, because they love TFs and just want flashy media with robots smacking each other around, and fast-forward through all the boring parts.
I know to us that'd probably mean the whole film, but remember I'm talking from a superficial perspective here.
