Hot on the heels of their previous trademark Movie Edition, Hasbro has applied for another trademark. This new trademark however, is a familiar one.
- Trademark Name: CYBERTRON
- Trademark ID: 87616073
- Filed Date: Sep. 23, 2017
- Owner: Hasbro, Inc.
- Related Properties Information: Cyberverse
- Trademark Description: Toy action figures, toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual toy forms.
As we found out, this new application is directly attached to Hasbro’s Cyberverse trademark (Reel Number: 4354342). You can check this out on the Related Properties section of the new trademark at USPTO.
The term Cyberverse came to forefront recently with the upcoming Transformers: Cyberverse animated series. Therefore it is not hard to guess where this is going.
Furthermore, this clearly explains why Hasbro did not apply for a new Cyberverse trademark. The old trademark is still active under the description “Toy action figures, toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual toy forms”.

This is the first time I've seen a Trademark attached to another trademark. I was like "Hey what's this? Related Properties Information?" *clicks the link* "Cyberverse?".

All I hope is that they learn from their mistakes with RiD’s overtly gimmick-focused toylines. The Mini-Con stuff especially just shelfwarmed like nothing else and I’m still finding rows of them on clearance today. Strike a balance between gimmicks and standard toys like the Movie lines have done.

I suspect Cyberverse is just going to be RID style toys and Generations will continue to be a mix of largely G1 and other styles which would be the logical thing to do since Cyberverse would be marketed towards the same demographic as RID is.

Agreed. I’m rather curious what cyberverse has to offer, although the problem lies in, if both are generations style figures, what’s going to be the big design differences? Is Cyberverse going to be simple G1 reboots while generations leans more towards an IDW themed design? Or is cyberverse going to be just a simple toyline based on g1 while generations gimmicks it up?

Why are you sad.

Back on topic, i hope Cyberverse has Generations-like figures instead of RID quality or complexity toys, with the "cyberverse will replace RID" i'm worried about that line, in fact, i don't think we will get 3 lines of generations the next year (MOVIE/POTP and maybe Cyberverse).

Huh?

I assumed they already has this TM!
Part of me is sad. You mean I could have TMed Cybertron all this time and then could have forced Hasbro to buy it from me?
