Once again, Twitter user @miiakira2017 shares More Transformers Generation 1 & Diaclone Early Concept Art.
This time we have some peculiar early designs. First, a possible idea for Transforming notebooks in Autobot and Decepticon versions. The next art looks like an alternate design for Terrorcon Hun-Gurr. As an extra bonus, we also can see some concept arts for what seems to be the Diaclone Fortress Robot X.
You can check the full resolution images after the jump and then sound off at the 2005 Boards!

Maybe "G1 and Related Concept Art" would be better since DiaClone also spills over to the Microman line as well. Early Japanese toy line designs cross over brands all the time. Some Super Sentai designs ended up in Machine Robo.

Might want to change the title to "Pre-Transformers/Diaclone Concept Art."

This looks more like a prototype for MachineRobo MR-44. Car is the same, but the transformation is different and no cowboy hat.
2003 Megatron
I love it. Very cool.

Hahahaha! That head sculpt though

This does NOT seem like early G1 concept art to me. This story needs to be verifed. What toy was this even supposed to represent? Like others said, it bares passing resemblance to a Gobot. There use to be an interview where one of the G1 artists said that the first thing they did was remove tires from the robot mode. So is this drawing supposed to be a tech spec image for an unreleased toy? This story desperately needs to be fact checked.
Buckybarnes
I like it.
ABH1979
Ha, yeah, I was going to say he looks like Tux's country cousin.

It's the embodiment of Cho-Go-Ken of 'Cash for Gokin' Preorder66 fame.

A few Tweets down, someone responds (Google-translated):
"Oh, this is my design base! And it seems to be believed even if you lie! (Laugh) I was handed over the sketches of the Diakron era and the rough idea, so I had worked on it based on it, is it still there now?"

Is the source reliable? I agree with others it does not look like G1
Chiller
Who is this guy?
Dake
I agree, this does not look at all like the previous line arts. This is supported by this response to the tweet a few comments down.

Looks more like a Go-Bot. Actually, it looks like a G.I. Joe/Go-Bot crossover. Like if Wild Bill and Tux had a love child.

Autobot stereotype people from Texas that will make fans in Texas of transformers real well didn't think cartoon series couldn't get more goofy that they all ready where back then guessing peter Cullen will voice him
Chiller
Ok, what would his G1 name be?
I'm going with Rodeo … or maybe Roadeo (but Bob was never quite that bad with the puns).
Basilisk
I guess he's the C-O-W-B-O-Y (why?),
Cuz he's the bot so bad that you can't deny,
And when you ask the Cowboy to play,
He's Cowboy he'll never run away.
griffin-of-oz
It reminds me of packaging art of around the Gen2 era… so maybe it was a proposed Gen2 toy.

That is so cool! I'd love more offbeat designs like this.
I hear what you're saying. But most of the detail work looks no more extreme than Gundam (the gun looks very similar to something in that show). If anything, I'd say it could be vintage Machine Robo if it's not Transformers, but I don't doubt the authenticity since I've not come across anything yet that disproves what this guy is posting, and there's guys in the fandom who would be knowledgeable enough to confirm or deny.
