We're there any other prominent anime differences?
Purple Heart
If history repeats itself(and it most likely will) Hasbro will go toy.
Metalwario64
If that works out well, I'll probably do that as well, just to have his Winnebago mode. Otherwise I'll just get the KO MO Hotrod as my Rodimus Prime.
Purple Heart
I hope Hasbro gives us a Monstructor and Takara a Dinoking.
Bob Schoonover
Yeah, I kind of think Hasbro *might* give us both. What they'll call Dinoking would be shell-homaging color schemes on the Dinobots (just 6 headswaps necessary) to go w/Liokaiser, then Monstructor from the Terrorcons, mostly (Scowl and Icepick from Rippersnapper, Wildly from Cutthroat, Bristleback from … Slug slightly mistransformed?, and a torso to be named later) in the inner-bot decos.
I'd buy both if you're reading, Hasbro

Honestly I hope abominus has a Purple head…instead of white, what are the chances?
ma70er
Hoping if or when we get the Dinoforce(assuming they're using Volcanicus as the base), they're more than just simple repaints with same Dinobot heads.
Haha… wishful thinking.
Shepard Prime
I honestly just wanted to know if you had any ideas on how to do the transformation while keeping the gimmick. A lot of people who gripe at Hasbro can say how they could've done it just based on existing toys and such.
Let's nip this next part in the bud tho': In your opinion, it's inexcusable. In mine, it's not. Most of the other parts in your post(s) are acknowledged as opinion but you jump to fact on that part and it's simply not. Especially if you're not going to say how they could've done it. Then it would be fact because there'd be clear and concise data to support your claim that it's "inexcusable." Because you'd be able to say,"They could've done it like this and since they didn't, it's inexcusable for them not to have done that." But just saying it's inexcusable is your opinion on the matter, same as mine and we should leave it like that.
I do get you on the display part and doing scenes, however. I'm finally springing for another table so I can set up all my Titan figs (and close to it) for a huge city display (well, when I'm not playing with them anyways
). It was well past time as my regular display just wasn't cutting the mustard for what I have in mind and I'm due an upgrade anyways.
Sorry I took a shot at you with the "facing forward comment."
stad
I don't really "play" with them, per se, but I do set up displays and they're not simply facing forward. Even from the side that would be visible. And I agree, as long as they look like they belong together and scale together, I have no problem intermixing – which IS a large part of leader-size Rodimus for me – it doesn't scale with the rest of the CHUGs. But I also acknowledge that that's my opinion on it, some people don't care. As for the atrocious backside of the toy – no, that's inexcusable, no matter how you try to spin it. I can't say how I would fix it – I don't have it in hand, and I have zero design experience, so I couldn't even guess just by looking at it online. The people that made this ARE designers, and that being the finished product for a $45-50 Transformer toy is inexcusable.
Autoboty
Don't get me wrong, I still like this Hot Rod, faux-chest or not. It's the best version of the character even more so than both MPs and the TR toy. The Matrix is a nice plus, too.
Shepard Prime
It's really not ridiculous to be honest. Especially in your case since, as you said, you don't play with them nor will you be transforming them. So unless you're displaying your figs with their back to you, you're not going to see that anyway.
Out of curiosity, keeping this gimmick as is, how would you have designed it so that it doesn't have the back like that?
Shepard Prime
Yeah but regardless that's and those were what I was talking about.
I was saying why I like the new figure and brought up the other Rodimus' that I've passed on over the years and why I'm really looking forward to PotP Rodimus because I very well could end up with a voyager and leader sized Rodimus with this guy. I don't usually get too caught up in line designations so it didn't really occur to me to make a point of saying KO or MP the first time around so that's on me (tho' it's funny you correcting me on that just because you don't count those when that wasn't the point of my post). In my collection, as long as they look like they belong together and scale right, I blend together, both for show and play.
stad
I've always thought Masterpiece was just that – Masterpiece scale. They don't necessarily fall into, or are classified by, the "standard" size classes. I didn't count third party/KO because, quite frankly, that's now what we were talking about. I have and use the Protector as my (more or less) Voyager sized Rodimus, but I don't count it as an actual release of a Voyager Rodimus.
divinecomedy
LOL at most of this stuff.
Reminds me of a saying: "all that glitters is not gold, it could also be PotP i.e Poop of the Primes."
Shepard Prime
Masterpiece and third-party/KO disagrees with you.

I\'ve just thought on. I\'m totaly confused why we never saw a full color combined mode. Since you know, they\'re all here in color.

I would argue that I am the target audience – I'm someone who will freely spend $45-50 for a Transformer toy.
And I promise I don't want a $100 price point or a buttload of folding tabs and panels – I'm not doing a lot of "playing" with the toys, so I don't want to spend a half hour figuring out how to transform anything. That doesn't mean it has to look like total shit from behind either, like someone forgot to do something with that entire part of the transformation.
My argument is that it shouldn't look like that for $45-50, and it's ridiculous to try to defend that. The size being too big is my personal thing, other people may not care, and I can continue to use Protector armor for a Rod Prime. But there's no getting around what looks like half a toy shell missing.
T-Hybrid
Well yeah, you can find a Slugslinger online, but not for retail price and not without buying a spare Hot Rod and Kup.
