Mastermind Creations offshoot for Masterpiece-styled releases, Ocular Max, has revealed a new test show via their Facebook page for PS-11 OMNE. The next offering in their Perfection series. is homage to Generation 1 Cosmos. The colors are based off of the G1 cartoon model but, as this is a test shot, the colors may not be final. The figure also sports optional front windshield pieces which will allow collectors to see a tiny Bumblebee or Blaster driving the little green UFO.
No release date or price has been given, but you can follow along with the thread in our 3rd party forum.

I always appreciated the effort MMC made to include passengers inside Omne, it is a unique feature that stands out from the rest. And they weren't just single color pieces of plastic either, actually painted to look like the character.

It’s true, Klaatu is amazing, and doesn’t seem to have any major flaws like a lot of XTB figures.

It's not even just cartoon accuracy, in terms of sculpt and paint, I think the X-Transbots and Zeta kill this thing. Klaatu in particular I feel is in talks for X-Transbots best piece. Just not $200+ good.
DrJ8
That’s fair. I got Omne when he was in stock at TFSource. He’s fun, but I felt like XTB Klaatu was a more cartoon accurate version. After checking aftermarket prices and seeing him go for over $300 I was happy to be able to find him for $200. Still way overpriced, but I had to take advantage.

Just preordered from BBTS. I only did it because I was sick of the X-Transbots, the Zeta, and the Toyworld version's aftermarket prices. I'm recently of the opinion that we have entered the twilight years of this thing, so now I'm just trying to get decent representations of as much of the G1 cast as I can and let the chips fall where they do.

Cheers for the heads-up, appreciated

TFSource has him in stock now!

Awesome thanks! (I was checking ShowZ/BBB/etc. as I don't normally order from these guys…but in this case I'll make an exception!)
DrJ8
Both TFSource and BBTS has him for pre-order.

XTB Toro is just alright. It looks really nice as a car and has a really really big obtrusive backpack as a robot. If you don’t have any versions of Cliffjumper for your display I guess go with that. But if you don’t have a Cliffjumper at all, I would advise you to go with fans toys and if that’s not practical, MMC. I keep looking at Omne And it’s going to be really hard to pass up on this re-issue. There are other characters I don’t have yet though.

Reissue? Pre-order? I've not seen that…to my knowledge that hasn't been announced…can you share a link?
EDIT: I would definitely buy a reissue

Go for the shrine.

Has anyone preordered the reissue of this guy? I'm torn between X-transbots Toro for my CHUGs or adding this to my Cosmos shrine.

Very interested in comparison shots it it is remolded.

Just dropping by to say that I got one of the recent reissues from TFSource and it's wonderful. I've had two copies of this mold before: one broke and one's collar wouldn't move properly. This new one fixes all the problems I had and the ones I've heard about. I believe the legs are remolded a bit to fix the transformation breakage. I don't remember proper order of operations for the legs, but nevertheless I've transformed it at least two dozen times with no problems.

I would almost certainly get an improved reissue. Off the top of my head I think Omne is the only Ocular Max mold I don't own. I have the vast majority of repaints for Ocular Max as well.

Poor plastic quality is probably on point. I remember buying one and being disappointed with stress marks out the box. Second one was fine but never kept it long enough to see if any surprises were waiting for me later. I would be down for a reissue to give this one a 3rd try

I just feel that XTB’s entry is a very well-designed figure in general. Everything feels great in the transformation, the joints are excellent, the finish is outstanding, and it’s just a rewarding toy to handle. I never got that impression with MMC’s Omne— it looks and feels somewhat rushed or under-designed, which is rare for that company. Plus, some of the design elements just look… off to my eye. If Omne looks more cartoon-accurate (does it?) then that’s certainly not a positive descriptor from my perspective. Fidelity to the animation models is a big deterrent for me, though I usually just perceive it as “too simple”, “cheap-looking” or “lacking in detail”. People like different things, though, so if it looks more like the cartoon then I understand why some collectors might prefer it.
TL;DR: I would go so far as to say that I think Klaatu is one of XTB’s best efforts, and Omne one of MMC’s worst. YMMV.

It's been the other way around for me. At one point I started feeling less and less happy with Klaatu when I realised that he wasn't as good and toon accurate as I initially thought he was. The face and the feet look bad. So I gave Omne a chance. And while he might feel a bit less stable with his chest design, I overall like him much more than Klaatu which I ended up selling immediately. I think I'd be open for a FT version though tbh…
