Principal Photography of Transformers Universe: Bumblebee live action movie has moved to Mount Tamalpais in Marin County, California.
This beautiful mountain was recently acknowledge in pop-culture due to its reference in Percy Jackson And The Olympians series.
Three yellow Volkswagen Beetles can be spotted on the images provided by dbrum of Instagram. While 2 of them are used for regular scenes, the rig fitted on the third indicates that it is used for “driverless driving”.

Additionally, actor Jason Drucker has arrived on the location for the filming.

I'm agreeing with fathi_haziq and G1DeadEnd. Way too modern to be in the 1980s setting. And yes, it looks like a tech car with equipment.
I'm giving a huge 'No, no' to timetravel. Time travelling as a plot convenience is a massive weakness in any media. Time travelling only works properly IF the entire concept of the franchise is all about time travelling such as Doctor Who, Back To The Future, or Time Traveler's Wife.
J. K. Rowling the author of Harry Potter once said Time Traveling is an interesting concept to work on but it turned out to be a very weak concept as if the writers do not have a way to resolve the story properly. As a retribution, she purposefully destroyed all the time turners on the fifth book. You can see how weak time travelling is as a plot convenience if you read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (which many believe as non-canon for the HP franchise).

Maybe Ultra Magnus????
G1DeadEnd
My first thought also, but the van does look to be more modern, as in, not from 1987. The headlights look too current.

Even if we did we wouldn't admit it!
You signed up a new account just to say that? Sit down mate, obviously it's a joke.
Orobot006
It's even more of a shame that people like you can somehow generalize a place of 300 million +.

@pie125, if the mods (@ABH1979) will let me…I GOTTA ROAST YOU!

Jason Drucker has arrived,neat!
bellpeppers
I agree with that.
But I doubt we'd agree about which people tho…
fathi_haziq
I love that Bee is just an old & understated stock Beetle instead of an excessively modified car. Unlike Bay, looks like Travis Knight understood what it means to be a Robot IN Disguise.
The late-model Ford Transit doesn't fit with the 80's theme and with what looks like a generator mounted on the front, I'm guessing it's something of a mobile monitoring station that's connected to the Mercedes camera car. There's probably expensive equipment in that van.
spikebuster
That van is WAY too modern to be in this movie unless time travel is involved.
Darkshift
Whether this is the best or the worst movie in the series, I'm super hyped for at least a Beetle-esque movie Bee toy.
SilverOptimus
Wonder what's the other van? Looks important enough to be carried.
MattDallas
I'd be happy if he had his original toy face or something similar.
MindChamber
A more complex G1 face wouldnt hurt..quintessons but with more angles… I'm completely done with the "Furby with a pacifier" look though.
BumblebeeNotOP
Wouldn't be long until we see the BeaterBee Camaro on set *squee
MattDallas
These photos of VW Beetles are making me so happy. I hope he retains this look for most of the film (perhaps changing to the old Camaro right at the end).

Ha! For a second there I thought they put bushes on top of the Trucks to hide the Filming.
