Artist Wesley Burt brings us some very nice The Last Knight Mini Dinobots Concept Art via his Instagram Account.
Wesley gaves us his impressions about his work with this concept art
“I was given the opportunity to work on some more Dinobot concepts, this time Mini-Dinobots for TF5! It was really cool to see them in motion and interacting with the characters. ILM did some really incredible modeling and animation work”.
We have our first look at Mini-Scorn and a Mini-Braquiosaurus which didn’t make into the movie.
You can check the mirrored images after the jump and sound off your impressions at the 2005 Boards!

why though?

Awesome.

They should have used the Dinosaur Mini-cons and just released them in a 3 pack in all silver, the dino modes are close enough and would display well with the larger figures.
Bahamut Prime
Awwwww… more baby Dino-bots!
batfan007
Has anyone from any source ever commented on why no toys of the baby Dinobots in the TLK toy line?
Shizuka
It's so great to see raw, unrefined concept art! Most people love showing off all the polished work.
Niv3k
I would understand the inclusion of these mini Dinobots if there were a thousand different toys of them in every size class possible just to milk their cute-level. Hell, I would even accept the fact that there is no explanation at all on where they actually came from. The problem is that there are no toys or other merchandise of them. Nothing.
What was the purpose of having them in the movie?
Magneon Sentinel
This art just keeps coming! When does it stop?!(Actually I really like it, but I also like being dramatic. I think they balance each other out).
Deadend
While I don't think this is what they'll use in the movie. Really pray to god it's not.
But joke or not, you're a transformer fan, and you wrote some fiction, so yes it's fan fiction.
Short and humorous, but still fan-fiction.
I'm sure the others are alive. Story confines and runtime cutting, and other things that ended up left out probably meant they didn't have time for more, but wanted to keep the character building that the baby dinos gave. Plus they may have additional bits of exposition later.
There was a lot of undertone about youngling bots that didn't seem to make the final cut. Canopy was supposed to protect more of them in his original design. Sqweeks is one. The baby dinos. Izzie took to them pretty quickly like she's been handling youngling bots before. So it seems like something that's building up for TF6 or later. We also have the moth bot that fell off Daytrader. Plus Cade's raising the 'puppy transformers' seems to suggest they are growing up from some kind of sourced creation. We also know transformium maintains some 'muscle memory' from its source too as shown in AOE with Megatron regaining control of himself without his spark and TLK with Sqweeks arm being able to kick on the blaster and compensate with the stand for it.
Which also brings up where did the 'mite' transformer bugs come from that infested Megatron in DOTM as he was leaking spark fluid.
And it seems over in IDW, they've been hinting at exploring that too, with how Stardrive started out as a youngling bot off panel until they showed her at an age when she can transform. The suggestion being the other two in the ship may have been her parents trying to escape the war.
Easy peasy. "Why not?" and "No reason."
If you don't get the joke. See the movie "Rubber." The beginning monologue should explain it enough for you.
sideswipe3
Headcanon only but bear with me.
Scorn and Strafe are dead.
So Slug is upset that her friends are gone so Grimlock sees it's his time to make a move.
Grimlock makes his mating call to let Slug know he is ready.
But Slug needs more than that.
So Grimlock does a mating dance.
Slug is interested but still needs more
Grimlock steals a cop car to make Slug happy.
Slug is now interested so the two start mating. Of course, Cade starts yelling about it etc etc.
This is all a joke of course, not some messed up fanfic.

That doesn't make much sense. I can't see animating two existing models would necessarily be cheaper than creating and animating three, albeit smaller, new models.
I wondered that before I saw the film, but when it was explained at the beginning that transformers have kept coming to Earth, I just assumed they were among the new arrivals. They were still utterly pointless though.
Liege Prime
Poor Wesley Burt was probably thinking "Man, these things are crazy. Can't wait to see them explained in the film."
AutobotAvalanche
They should have had the Dinobots die in AOE and then the babies are regrown from a little piece of shrapnel like Groot.
Jazz210
Baffled by the fact that baby dinos were in the movie when they have nothing to do with the movie. Reminiscent of g1 cartoons when tfs appear in one episode only to never be seen or heard from again.
Cute or not this is just utter pointless baby dino crap
AutobotAvalanche
Baffled that they included a baby Slog when he wasn't in the films.
Exsalted
It would have been cool to see a baby Slash?
Timothy.R
I too would love to see a transformers movie apologist explain that.
Chopperface
This is nice and all but we still never learned where they came from and Bay lied through his teeth that they'd have more screen time than in AOE and only Grim and Slug showed up and man fuck this shi-OMG baby Scorn hasn't fully grown his little sail damn that's adorable
Well Slog was a quasi-Brachiosaurus in the toyline. Baby Slog looks more like a Brachiosaur than Slog did.
G1DeadEnd
Per Hound: "Infestation of puppy Transformers."
Noideaforaname
Where the heck did a Brachisaur come from?!
I mean, where did any of them come from, but the others at least all had adult parallels…
