Loving these guys! I am going to paint Overkills lower jaw dark blue though. Fantastic figures!

Well, not the optimal solution, but it should be too hard to paint.

I really need to pick these guys up at some point to go with their Soundwave KO I ordered the other day.

I just wish they would’ve done something to make Overkill’s bottom jaw blue. I have both the KFC sets and this set. They are much better than the KFC ones but that lower jaw being white is killing me
Gojira101
about my set I believe they easily replace KFC, There Slugfest visually way better than KFC’s offering. Only slight issue with mine is the tolerance of the sliding dorsal spikes was a little loose so had to thicken it with future floor polish.
RH’s Overkill is more stable, aesthetically it is more cartoonish but doesn’t bother me in the slightest. If you look at the pic I posted they dwarf KFC’s.
More than anything these don’t feel fragile like KFC’s offerings. Construction and aesthetics are what sold me on these guys, I couldn’t even tell you where my KFC’s are now and honestly I don’t care. I hope that RH puts out more cassettes in the near future.
Hope this helps.

So as someone who has both, would you say these can easily replace KFC’s offering? Are they more stable and have tighter joints over KFCs?

Finally able to toss my sweat stained hat into the ring!
B&B Durden & Barney review. There's a gag in there somewhere, it was quite embarrassing to organize. PRAISE ME! *coughs
Gojira101
While not perfect these are a vast improvement over the KFC ones I really wished that Durden's spikes stayed up without aid.

So which of the two is Turden?

(Not my video, obviously)
Really loving how these guys look, though Slugfest seems a bit finicky.

I think I've just found my new signature.

Not saying they didn't improve on the originals at all, just not as much as, say, MP Prowl did over the original toy. It is nice that the weapons integrate in the MP's, but they still fall more on the "toy" rather than "collectible" end of the scale. YMMV of course. G1 Ravage's missiles were separate pieces.
BTW I enjoyed your post in the MMC Backdraft page and piggy-backed on it today; just got my Backdraft this afternoon.
Mormolyce
Mmm, I dunno, I think I only had Lazerbeak as a kid but I feel like the MP version was a big improvement. The thruster whatsits are fully integrated into the cassette instead of annoying partsforming bits that always fall off… also nicer wings and headsculpt, even has the flip up plate in the head if you can ever get it out of there with say, a pin
Ravage… I think his cannons used to also be partsforming? And he was practically 2-d.
Can't really comment on Rumble and Frenzy.
Atomic Robutt
I love that overkill is named barney.

Not too sure if I'd say that. I like them, for sure, but they aren't super useful outside Ravage. These, while flawed, are still (even if minimally) improvements upon the G1 toys, and are great space fillers for any fans of the G1 or MP Soundwave toys (I don't even own either and I know I'm getting these just to go into Soundblaster when I can afford him).
Sometimes, you just need a couple extra boxes to fit into your pectoral cavities.
Scourgatron
Do they? They don't even fit in Soundwave.
JoeScibelli
I'm going to hold off on preorders until I can get a confirmation of whether the QC is good, but if they turn out well I'm absolutely buying these.
Overkill looks odd but gains a lot of character in that, and both of them look like they could be legitimately fun to transform to robot and back so long as the plastic feels good.

None of the microcassette scaled figures dramatically improve on the original toys except perhaps in materials and a modest increase in articulation. That includes the official ones. I much prefer MMC's bot-scaled designs for that reason, they have more of a reason for existing.
That said, these guys turned out better than I expected for sure. They are very cute, espeially Overkill. For what it's worth although their articulation is limited it is an improvement on the G1 (I had both these guys as a kid). Mostly the upgrade is in the limbs, which now actually extend out from the bodies. The original toys' legs just kind of angled out a bit or folded straight out. This Overkill's head is also larger and more detailed.
I have enough affection for the original toys and these are so cute I may just pick them up so I have something to do with Soundwave. Would be nice if MMC would upsize them someday but I need Autobot cassettes first.
