Via Cybertron.ca, we’re able to report that some exciting new releases are hitting Canadian retail! Arriving on store shelves in perfect time for TFcon is the newest release of Masterpiece Optimus Prime. Hasbro’s Masterpiece Optimus Prime is designated MP-10 like the original Takara-Tomy release of the mold, and is a great opportunity to own this excellent figure once more. He’s arriving in Kitchener, Ontario.
Alongside Masterpiece Optimus Prime, there have been multiple reports of Titans Return Deluxe Wave 5 hitting Canadian retail. This assortment consists of three new releases, Twin Twist, Windblade, and Misfire, along with a repack of Wolfwire / Weirdwolf.
Hsppy hunting, friends!

Hmmm…that's interesting. The one I got (the day of release from TRU) doesn't have any of the cab issues or issues at all with paint, etc and of course, preferences are subjective. All in all, I am quite impressed with the figure I have compared to the other two. To each their own and luck of the draw I suppose.

Ehh…I disagree.
I think the 2012 release is better.
The 2012 release doesn't have the cab door issue, no droopy axe, and the paint for the Autobot symbols and trailer stripes is tighter on the 2012 release when compared to the new 2017 release: Hasbro Transformers Masterpiece MP-10 Optimus Prime Images and Comparisons to Previous Releases

Did that already.

This one is very different in colour than the original Hasbro release. This is much more toon accurate (and evidently, more toon accurate than takara's version).

I am pleased to say this figure is different than the original Hasbro one. Joints and ratchets are tight and the color tones are VERY different than the bright stand out the original had. This is an in between color between takara and Hasbro. I have all three and have to say this one by far is the best (and by no means am I a Hasbro collector).

Thanks!

Trailer is included.

If it comes with the trailer I might just put off getting the Saturn V set until they manage to produce more.
Bah! But the reviews for the Saturn V say it's one of the best sets ever made. Grrrr, I hate waiting this long.

I think it comes with one.

I've been thinking of getting the MP-10 reissue if I can't get Lego's Saturn V rocket anytime soon; does it come with the trailer or no? Because the box seems rather small.

I knkw it's super annoying to not know if your gonna have a ton at retail at cheaper prices or if you have yo order online. Wheb you order online 6 x's out of 10, you see em stores b4 you even get them. When you dony order online you never see em in stores for like 6 months sometimes never (depending on location and how often we check of course)

That…. is one heck of a lot of repackaging…….. Everyone (myself included) hated when TF:TM in '86 killed off a big chunk of G1's original cast, but by introducing a new cast they prevented this from happening!
Nevermore
Generally, because Walmart apparently doesn't want the appearance of old stock sitting on the shelves for more than a few months, so they insist on a system that has a constant turnover of product at the same price point.
However, it appears this system is already put into question with the RID line, which features, for the first time in decades, old unchanged product explicitly remaining in production for over two years.
In its first year, the RID line started out as your typical wave-based line with same-character redecos eventually replacing the original iterations of those figures (remember, for Walmart, "redeco" equals "new product"). But once the "Mini-Con Weaponizers" subline imprint with its new packaging design hit, the same-character redecos were suddenly replaced themselves by re-releases of those sculpts in their original decos. The "Combiner Force" subline imprint continued that trend, with some figures such as Warrior Grimlock, Warrior Bumblebee or Legion Bumblebee in their original 2014/15 decos being available in all three packaging styles!

This would not be considered a normal release sequence pre-2016.

Then why the hell do they insist on the fucking wave system? Just do one yearly assortment and be done with it.
Back when these were tied to a TV show, this would've allowed those parents/grandparents to get show characters (often introduced early in the year) for kids at Christmas time. Oh but Hasbro knows better LOL.
Because it requires effort. It requires understanding how products differ from each other instead of treating everything like cereal or shoes and it requires taking responsibility when you fuck up by not delivering on time or at all. Versus ye olde "hurrr, wut we has is on teh shelves lol duh ecomony moar stock options plz."

The whole distribution issue is one of my big pet peeves with this hobby. The other one? QC issues and design flaws. (And BBTS has my Trypticon in my POL just waiting for me…)

Don't these come with a flap to open to see the toy?.I don't buy Hasbro Masterpieces, I stick with Takara but it seems like they still would do that. And if so I wish someone would take a pic of the actual toy itself. I'd like to know what blue they used. If it's the same .. "That's asinine!" as Hank Hill would say
Well said. But they have it figured out in japan and it seems like rest of Asia too. Either that or Asia is just better at buying the old stock, I believe in some situations they have. They use ques (spelling may be wrong) long lines ppl get in to preorder products in Hong Kong. Wish they did that at ALL stores here in America. I realize you CAN preorder at comic shops, some/not mine, but it's not generalized like I guess it is in China for Hot Toys ect.

Ack…I just realized the title error!
